The SailPack Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and sustaining a competitive intercollegiate sailing program and sailing club at NC State; fostering engagement with the sport of sailing amongst NCSU students and throughout North Carolina, teaching the technical skills and safety considerations necessary to become sailors; and procuring, managing and maintaining safe & contemporary equipment, assets, & facilities necessary to achieve these goals.

That’s a wrap on 2026 College Sailing Nationals and a great season for the Wolfpack!

Our women’s team finished 17th at semifinals, and coed finished 15th in the semifinals after heading into Day 2 in qualifying position, outperforming expectations and raising eyebrows. We let a few races get away from us, but the team battled hard, learned a ton, and represented NC State with pride on the biggest stage in college sailing.

Huge thanks to St. Pete, USF Sailing, Todd, and the RC, Adam and the judges, and everyone who helped make the championship such a great event. SAISA conditions and hospitality were on full display all week.

Most importantly, thank you to the parents, alumni, friends, and donors who supported us and made this trip possible. This season was a big step forward for the program, and we’re grateful for everyone who helped us get here.

We are proud to celebrate our sailors who have been recognized as All-SAISA Conference award winners including Kevin Gosselin, recognized by his peers as SAISA Sportsman of the Year, and freshman Eleanor Crandall, recognized as a Rookie of the Year Finalist for coed crew!

NC State Sailing is heading back to Nationals!
Both our Women’s and Coed teams have earned at-large bids to the 2026 College Sailing National Championships in St. Petersburg, Florida.
- Women’s Nationals: May 15–18
- Coed Nationals: May 19–22

We’re also working to raise support to offset travel, housing, and entry costs for both teams. If you’re interested in supporting, reach out or check the link in bio.

Ready to get out on the water? Current NC State undergraduate and graduate students can join us for our free sailing clinic on April 19th. No experience needed!!

Where: Lake Crabtree County Park (meet in the parking lot north of the Lake Crabtree Boat Ramp)

Time: 1–4 PM
What to bring: water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses

What to expect: hands-on coaching from our race team, guidance for all skill levels, and a fun afternoon out on the water in the sunshine.

Whether you’ve never stepped on a boat or just want to get more time sailing, this is the perfect chance to get involved!

Wolfpack Sailing was back on the road this weekend with strong results in Wilmington and Miami, including winning B-Division at the 2026 Azalea Bowl and missing the regatta win overall by just a few points.

This weekend marks the 10th edition of the Sailpack Oriental Intercollegiate Regatta! What started as a small invitational aimed at introducing younger sailors to the wonderful town of Oriental has grown into a nationally recognized event that blends high-level competition with one of the most unique hospitality traditions in college sailing. Every year, the community opens its doors to host teams and coaches, the community comes together to break bread and enjoy an authentic North Carolina pig pickin’ BBQ, live music and entertainment, and BOOM! a college regatta becomes something so much bigger than racing sailboats.

This year’s fleet brings together teams from across the country and beyond, continuing the tradition of great dinghy racing, hospitality, Corinthian spirit and making new friendships, and a weekend that showcases the very best of coastal North Carolina. We’re proud to celebrate 10 years of the SailPack in Oriental with the sailors, alumni, hosts, friends, families and community that have made it what it is.

Regatta results as of late…the Sailpack has been busy and on the road from Charleston to St. Mary’s and everything in-between.

Spring Break training in coastal Oriental, North Carolina is one of the most important weeks of the year for the SailPack. For a full week the team trains together on the water every day, working with a visiting elite coach, chartering boats, and living together in an immersive environment focused entirely on development. Over the past decade, this week of focused training has played a major role in the growth and rising competitiveness of NC State Sailing. The improvement you see on the racecourse often starts here.

Because the program charters boats, brings in high-level coaches, and rents housing for the week, these costs are paid directly by the students themselves.
