The SailPack Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and sustaining a competitive intercollegiate sailing program and sailing club at NC State; fostering engagement with the sport of sailing amongst NCSU students and throughout North Carolina, teaching the technical skills and safety considerations necessary to become sailors; and procuring, managing and maintaining safe & contemporary equipment, assets, & facilities necessary to achieve these goals.

Wolfpack sailors WIN at CNU’s 2026 Webb-Woollum Regatta this past Saturday in breezy, gusty conditions! Carrying a win in A-Division and a tie for second in B-Division, NC State secured the overall regatta win in our only regatta this weekend.

Over the weekend, NC State sailors traveled both north and south from Raleigh to compete. At the 2026 Charleston Fall Interconference Regatta, Wolfpack sailors finished 3rd overall, while another squad of NC State sailors competed at Dartmouth College in round 1 of the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship where the Wolfpack finished 16th overall. With under a month left in the fall season, the team is gearing up and focused on SAISA Conference Championships on October 30-November 1.

This past weekend, NC State sailors hit the road to St. Petersburg, Florida and Columbia, South Carolina for three different regattas. At Eckerd College, the Wolfpack competed in the coed SAISA Top 6 Invite, a three-division combined event, where they finished 3rd overall. Across town at USF-St. Petersburg, NC State’s women’s team competed in the women’s SAISA Top 6, combined three-division event, where they finished 5th. At the Univ. of South Carolina, the NC State coed team finished 3rd overall with B-division skipper Lee Wehr and crew Kaleb Pearson dominating their division with just 9 points across 7 races. Well done to these travel squads as they keep the momentum going for the fall season!

This past weekend, NC State sailors traveled to compete in five regattas in Annapolis, Charleston, and two home events in Raleigh. At the US Naval Academy, the Wolfpack placed 8th at the 2026 Shields Trophy, while in Charleston the coed and women’s squads competed in their respective SAISA Top 9 events. At home, we hosted the SAISA Women’s Sprint on Saturday, and sadly, were skunked by no wind on Sunday for what would have been the 10th annual Triangle Tango Intercollegiate Regatta. The women’s squad in Charleston placed fifth overall and have qualified for Women’s ACCs at Dartmouth in a few weeks.

Sailing! If you’re new to it or an old salt, come out and learn more about the Sailing Club at NC State! From learning to sail, to fun sailing trips, to top level collegiate racing, we have it all. Look for us at RecFest and come out for an info session! We are ready to get on the water so we hope you are, too!

That’s a wrap on 2026 College Sailing Nationals and a great season for the Wolfpack!

Our women’s team finished 17th at semifinals, and coed finished 15th in the semifinals after heading into Day 2 in qualifying position, outperforming expectations and raising eyebrows. We let a few races get away from us, but the team battled hard, learned a ton, and represented NC State with pride on the biggest stage in college sailing.

Huge thanks to St. Pete, USF Sailing, Todd, and the RC, Adam and the judges, and everyone who helped make the championship such a great event. SAISA conditions and hospitality were on full display all week.

Most importantly, thank you to the parents, alumni, friends, and donors who supported us and made this trip possible. This season was a big step forward for the program, and we’re grateful for everyone who helped us get here.

We are proud to celebrate our sailors who have been recognized as All-SAISA Conference award winners including Kevin Gosselin, recognized by his peers as SAISA Sportsman of the Year, and freshman Eleanor Crandall, recognized as a Rookie of the Year Finalist for coed crew!
