began in 2007 as a leading advocate for our nation's women veterans in North Carolina. We provide information to services designed to help unify the community and the ever-growing military family and veterans population. WVSS is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization chartered (2008) in the Great State of North Carolina and tax-exempt from the Federal Government. The WVSS, Inc., through its Incorpora
tors and its Board of Directors, are subject to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations that pertain to Non-Profit rules. has four Programs to assist with the unique needs of our nation's finest, Project Red Shoe and Protective Red Shoe, H.E.R. ReDefined, and Ready4Work. WVSS specializes in CRISIS Management. Homelessness and being at-risk is the first program. Out of the two causes of homelessness came Protective Shoe, which addresses awareness and direct support of the Domestic Violence and Sexual assault program. Two Recovery Support programs are the HER Redefined, which covers support groups (referrals ) and in-house counseling. Falana provides Pastoral care. Falana is also a licensed family-child therapist ( also private practice). We provide 30. 60. 90-day follow-up. This Organization started with advocacy with the awareness of this underserved population of women veterans, who are the fastest-growing homeless and jobless population. She is constantly at risk of sexual abuse and is a target for human trafficking. We are the frontline to stabilize and assist her with community support. We provide training for other organizations to better understand our military and veteran culture. We did this to address an underserved population. There are not many gender-specific programs for her. One homeless women veteran shelter in this state (in Asheville) is dedicated to her. We aim to provide a Crisis Center dedicated to providing complete direct services instead of referring her to her recovery phase after the crisis intervention. We believe that the women who stand in harm's way for our nation's freedoms should never worry about a safe place to lay their heads. We believe that our families are worth fighting for and are entitled to all accessible ways to care for those who have borne the battles. We believe that our military women are entitled to work in a safe environment without sexual harassment and with-in ranks violence. We believe that better gender-specific healthcare should be available at the VA hospital or a specialty clinic with no additional charge to the veteran. Finally, we believe that there is grant money out there and donors who are just looking to give us donations to work our programs and possibly help us finance and sustain our Deborah Center or the House of Deborah. With your help, we can make it, and she, our warrior, has a chance at a better life. Women Veterans Support Services, Inc. is a charitable non-profit organization that assists our women warriors and in cases of single fathers with daughters. We operate and give from the generosity of donations, in-kind and successful grants. We would like for you to consider WVSS in your giving. With your help, we can get them immediately off the streets of anywhere in NC. Safe-In-Seven gives seven days of safety, support, and service.
