A CENTENNIAL WORTH CELEBRATING

In June 2027, the USA Salvation Army Southern Territory turns 100 – one hundred years since incorporation in the state of Georgia. A hundred years of serving, discipling, and proclaiming the Gospel across the Southeastern United States.

And we're not letting that pass quietly.

The Centennial Celebration, "All for Jesus," will be held June 4–6, 2027, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Leading up to the weekend, Territorial Active Officer Councils will gather on Wednesday, June 2, and pre-events – including Spotlight, Bible Bowl, and community engagement opportunities – will take place Thursday, June 3.

General Lyndon Buckingham, international leader of The Salvation Army, will be in attendance. Special events are planned for youth, men, and women. The Southern Territorial Historical Center will present an exposition showcasing 100 years of the territory's service and ministry.

But Commissioner Kelly Igleheart, territorial commander, is clear about what grounds the entire weekend: "A driving reason for us to gather is the ordination and commissioning of cadets. We never want to lose sight of that."

Sunday, June 6, will center on the commissioning of the Proclaimers of Transformation session as the newest officers of the Southern Territory.

The weekend is also a call to recommitment – to our covenant, to mission, to relationship with Christ – so that everyone who gathers leaves reinvigorated for the Kingdom work ahead.

"We are believing for a future, and though it's not here yet, even now, it's worthy of praise," Commissioner Igleheart says. "God has been faithful before. We believe He's going to be faithful going forward, and that's cause for celebration."

Camp season is getting close! Staff orientation has officially started. We have 5 young adults that are working this summer. Please be in prayer over them throughout the summer.

May God guide their steps, words, thoughts and actions. May they continue to seek Him in the morning and at night. May they be transformed by the Holy Spirit, and be anchored by the love of Jesus!
