Rest easy, Bea. Thank you for so many years of being the best girl. When I spent a week trapping you in the woods, I never could have imagined you staying with us for all these years. You were, hands down, the best mom we have ever had and you were such a good girl. I miss you already.

Wishing all of you a very happy and safe 4th of July!

Happy Friday from Gordie and all the rest of us here at The Fort!
Some of you may remember Gordie. He came to us a few months ago on the literal verge of death. He was in desperate need of life saving medical attention and his owners had zero money. So, they surrendered him to us! We got him all taken care of and after an extensive surgery and SEVERAL days in the hospital he came to be fostered for us while we look for his forever home. Now, the little guy is all healthy and ready to be adopted!
Anyone interested in adopting this adorable little guy please email us at [email protected] for more information! Please share!!! Help us find Gordie the home he deserves!

UPDATE ON OUR NEWEST LITTLE GUY!!!
We have decided to call him Gordie. It seems to fit him.
Gordie had a rough day yesterday. He developed melena, appeared painful and had no interest in food. His medications were adjusted and today he appears more comfortable and even ate a small bite of food! His urinary catheter and subcutaneous drain were able to be removed! He still has his abdominal drain and his nasogastric tube in.
Some may criticize us for going so far for this little guy. And perhaps we would have reconsidered, had we known the massive expense we would incur with him. But, no we are in it and as long as Gordie continues to improve we are going to do what we can to help him.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
At this point Gordie’s bill is about $9000. As I said, we had no idea we would be incurring such a massive expense and we simply don’t have the money to pay it. Donations towards Gordie’s care can be made any of the following ways:
