NCSU Lambdas - Gamma Sigma Chapter

NCSU Lambdas - Gamma Sigma Chapter "Chivalry Above Self" Membership at the undergraduate level is open to all males, regardless of race, culture or creed.

Lambda Theta Phi was born to promote the spirit of brotherhood, to protect the rights of Latino students in his/her quest for an education, to promote the rich Latino culture, and to maximize leadership potentials to provide guidance to our community. The prospective student must be enrolled full-time at a four-year accredited institution. In addition, in order to participate in the fraternity’s i

ntake process, the student must possess a minimum of 2.5 grade point average. Lambda Theta Phi seeks visionary leaders who can assist in our mission to accomplish the goals set forth by our founders. Lambda strives to recruit individuals with a commitment to excellence and a determination to succeed. Although many people may think of fraternities solely as a part of college life, membership in Lambda extends beyond graduation. In addition to our undergraduate chapters, our brotherhood has established Alumni Chapters across the country. The support and networking opportunities exist at both the undergraduate and professional levels.

Last week, a few of our dedicated brothers represented the Gamma Sigma Chapter at the Lambda Theta Phi National Convention (LambdaCon).

Shoutout to Johnny Osorio Mota, Jair Arevalo, Immanuel Sierra-Alvarado, and David Barrios for making the trip. These brothers had the opportunity to connect with brothers from across the nation and bring back valuable knowledge from a variety of leadership workshops. It was a truly unforgettable experience that will help our chapter continue to grow and lead on campus.

Great work, brothers!

June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

We highly encourage our brothers and community to check in with themselves and with each other.

Strength is not just about pushing through but also about speaking up, asking for help, and supporting those around you.

Why Lambdas?

“I chose Lambda Theta Phi Latin fraternity inc. because I was looking for people who value ambition, culture, and personal growth. As a Latino with 3 siblings, family has always been important. I wanted to be in an atmosphere of people that support one another in their professional, social, and intellectual endeavors. The sincere relationships and strong sense of family I observed within the fraternity made Lambda Theta Phi stand out to me.”

Why Lambdas?

“I went with Lambda Theta Phi because I wanted to find a community that would push me to grow both personally and professionally while also allowing me to stay connected to my culture. It was important for me to surround myself with people who understood the value of family, hard work, and giving back to the community. When I met the brothers of Lambda Theta Phi, I saw a group of driven individuals who were committed to success in the classroom, in their careers, and in their personal lives.

What stood out to me most was the genuine support system the brotherhood provides. Whether it’s academic advice, professional development, leadership opportunities, or simply having people who want to see you succeed, an environment exists where everyone pushes each other to be better. Joining Lambdas has given me lifelong friendships, opportunities for growth, and a network of brothers who motivate me to become the best version of myself every day.”

Fun fact: I’m good at cooking (anyone on fifa) ⚽️

Why Lambdas?

“Lambda Theta Phi has stood out to me because of the way the brothers support one another
and take pride in their culture. Through every interaction I have had with the brothers, I have
seen a group of men who are driven, accountable, and genuinely invested in each other’s
success. As a Latino at North Carolina State University, it was important for me to find a
brotherhood where I could connect with others who share the same values and experiences as
me. One of my biggest goals is to keep growing as a person, and seeing the way the brothers
push each other to succeed academically, professionally, and personally showed me that
Lambda is the type of environment that can help me achieve that goal. To me, Lambda is more
than a fraternity; it is a family.”

Why Lambdas?

“Coming into NC State, I had a certain image of fraternities based on stereotypes and what
people usually say about them. But after meeting the brothers, I realized it was a completely different environment. I saw driven individuals who genuinely wanted to succeed in life while appreciating the sacrifices their families made to help them get here. That sense of ambition, gratitude, and brotherhood was something I knew I wanted to be a part of.

Seeing so many brothers involved across campus also stood out to me. It showed me that they
give back to the community around them. The relationships between the brothers carried
genuine meaning and created a real sense of family.

Like many others, I came into college with little to no knowledge of what I needed to pursue my
professional career. The brothers helped guide me by giving me advice, helping me build my
LinkedIn, improve my resume, and prepare for interviews. Experiencing that support gave me
the desire to give back to others the same way the brothers gave back to me.”
