The Summer Rally is also our membership drive and all riders become NCBC members.
What does this mean?
The North Carolina Bicycle Club exists to support cycling, cycling organizations and to mentor new cycling endeavors, as well as assisting in the passing of cycling friendly legislation.
Last year NCBC provided all the material support for rides such as The Raven Rock Ramble, The Firecracker Ride, The Spring Fling, CARA’s Ride for their Lives, The Five-0 Ride and more. We even partner with BikeMS in support of their event. This includes items such as coolers, big and small, Tables, Tents, Bike Racks and an air conditioned place to stage their rides, and more. Last year, not counting BikeMS, NCBC provided support to allow these and other events to raise over $156,000 in charity funds.
NCBC helps either provide or assists in funding and/or reducing the costs on insurance.
NCBC has a Pay It Forward Program for non-perishable rest stop food where rides support each other throughout the year, food is not wasted and remains fresh and everyone benefits.
NCBC donates to BikeWalk NC annually to assist them in sending people to the statehouse and working on eliminating or changing things like contributory negligence.
In 2024, NCBC has donated $9600.00 to date to numerous cycling related charitable endeavors. These have yielded successful cycling events and endeavors by various organizations.
NCBC is your behind the scenes cycling organization. We have two fundraising rides each year. The Summer Rally being our membership Ride. We also have our annual New Year's Day event. All rides are open too anyone who wishes to participate.
As a member, not only do you support the above, you get premium access to Ride With GPS and the ability to travel with your bicycle in a hard case to keep it safe. You also get to participate in a safe fun event and enjoy a day with a few hundred of your favorite people.
