Calling all BBYO alumni in the area! Save the date for Raleigh BBYO’s Centennial Celebration! The teens of Shaina BBG and Saul Nahum AZA have been working so hard planning this event. Last night, our community came together for a beautiful and meaningful Shabbat dinner.

It was our honor to host Margot Lobree, a Holocaust survivor of the Kindertransport, as our guest and speaker. Everyone was so moved and touched by hearing her firsthand account of not only the Kindertransport, but what life was like for a young Jewish girl embarking on this new frightening journey alone.

The night was extra poignant as it comes on the back of the 85th anniversary of . With everything going on in the world, now more than ever it is vital we come together as a Jewish community to stand up and once again say,

Thank you to everyone who came out last night. And thank you to Jewish for Good for graciously hosting us & Jason's Deli for the fantastic catering. Lastly, the biggest shoutout to the teen leaders of Shaina BBG for putting together the entire evening.

The teens of and AZA are excited to come together to host a family Shabbat dinner. With the current situation in Israel, it is more important than ever that we come together as a Jewish community. Margot Lobree, family friend of a current teen & Holocaust survivor, will be on hand to speak with everyone about her experiences. We are beyond honored to have Margot join us.

This event will include salad, dinner & dessert, the chance to connect with your Jewish community and to hear firsthand from a Holocaust survivor. The cost for this event is *$10 per person* and it is open to members of Shaina, Saul and their family members, as well as prospects who have previously attended an event and their family. Come and enjoy part of the magic your teens experience at convention while we close out Shabbat as a community. Afterwards there will be a separate mix&mingle event. Light snacks & drinks will be provided.

They empower each and every member to do their best, develop new leadership skills, and grow into dynamic Jewish leaders. With that in mind, we are SO excited to introduce ’s new advisor, ! We can’t wait for everyone to get a chance to meet Liz. In the meantime, learn more about her below!

“Hi there! My name is Elizabeth and I’m 24 years old. I moved to downtown Durham this summer after graduating from Duke in 2020 and spending a couple of years in Seattle. During the work week, I spend my time as a software engineer at Google. Outside of that, I love hiking, reading romance novels, and baking. I’m excited to continue learning and growing in my Jewish identity with the community we’re building together here, while serving as a role model for the teens of Shaina BBG 💙”
