🤙🏾 The Brothers showed up and showed out at Black Spinners Night at Fluor Field!

We were proud to be part of an incredible evening celebrating culture, community, connection, and opportunity. Events like this remind us of the power of showing up, building relationships, and investing in the next generation.

Throughout the evening, our Brothers connected with students, families, and community leaders while sharing information about the Alpha Gents Mentoring Program. Our mission is simple: develop young men into leaders of character, scholarship, service, and excellence.

A special thank you to The Greenville Drive, Better U, House of Pruitt and Finish First, community partners and vendors who created a space where our community could come together, celebrate, and inspire one another.

Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter Leadership Retreat 2026

Leadership is not just about holding a position. It’s about creating a vision, aligning brothers around a purpose, and holding ourselves accountable to the mission we serve.

This weekend, the brothers of Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
gathered for our annual Chapter Leadership Retreat, an intentional time dedicated to planning, reflection, and strategic action.

Together, we focused on:

âś… Deepening Brotherhood

As we evaluate our progress, celebrate our accomplishments, and set priorities for the year ahead, we remain committed to advancing Alpha’s legacy of leadership, service, advocacy, and excellence throughout our communities.

WHAT RACES ARE HEADING TO A RUNOFF?
Some of the more notable runoff elections taking place on June 23 include:

Republican primary for SC governor
Republican primary for SC Attorney General
Republican primary for SC Agriculture Commissioner
Democratic primary for U.S. House District 2
Democratic primary for U.S. House District 1

CAN I VOTE EARLY?
âś…Yes. Early voting for the runoffs runs from June 17-18. Polling locations will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.

IF I DIDN’T VOTE IN THE PRIMARY, CAN I VOTE IN THE RUNOFF?
âś…Yes. Those who did not vote in the primary election can vote in the runoff.

IF I VOTED FOR ONE PARTY IN THE PRIMARY, CAN I VOTE FOR ANOTHER IN THE RUNOFF?
đźš«No. You cannot change parties between the primary and runoff elections.

Fatherhood in Focus: Changing the Narrative

This morning, we had the privilege of partnering with Dream Preparatory Academy for the Fatherhood in Focus: Changing the Narrative Breakfast.

What an incredible and inspiring event! It was powerful to gather in a space dedicated to celebrating the impact, influence, and importance of fathers in the lives of their children and communities.

Fatherhood matters. Presence matters. Leadership matters. Love matters.

As we listened to stories, shared experiences, and reflected on the responsibility and privilege of being fathers and mentors, one message remained clear: when fathers are engaged, families are strengthened, and communities thrive.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and to every father, father figure, mentor, and role model who shows up each day to make a difference.

Together, we can continue changing the narrative and building stronger futures for the next generation.

Congratulations to Alpha Gents Class of 2026 Scholar Jabori Maliq-Griffin!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Jabori Maliq-Griffin for earning 1st Place in the African American Leadership (AAL) Affinity Group of United Way of Greenville County Scholarship Competition!

Jabori’s achievement is a testament to years of hard work, academic excellence, leadership, and service to his community. As a graduating senior and member of the Alpha Gents Class of 2026, he has consistently demonstrated what it means to lead with purpose and excellence.

This fall, Jabori will attend the University of South Carolina on a full scholarship, made possible through his dedication and the financial support he has earned from the Alpha Gents Mentorship Program and outstanding scholarship opportunities like the AAL Scholarship Program.

The African American Leadership Affinity Group’s investment in students represents more than financial assistance. It is a commitment to developing the next generation of leaders who will help close opportunity gaps and create positive change in our communities. Jabori embodies that vision.

What an incredible day! 🎯 Today, the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter, hosted our Annual Project ALPHA Workshop, and it was an absolute success!

We had an amazing day of learning, connecting, and sharing powerful lessons about decision-making, building confidence, and navigating healthy relationships with a fantastic group of young gentlemen (ages 12–18) right here in Greenville.

Seeing the next generation of leaders show up, ask sharp questions, and engage with positive role models is exactly why we do this. The future is looking incredibly bright!

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to the Upstate Circle of Friends today, and to everyone who poured into these young men. Let’s keep that momentum going!
