Imagine going from Raleigh to DC in three hours. The North Carolina Department of Transportation received a grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to purchase the S-Line between Raleigh and Ridgeway. Virginia purchased the Richmond to Ridgeway corridor last year. Eventually this will lead to high speed rail and a commuter rail from Raleigh to Wake Forest.

The grant was disclosed in a joint announcement from two Democratic congressmen and North Carolina’s two Republican U.S. senators.
