“Sometimes you just know… this is a God moment.”
Taylor had already been carrying more grief than most 16-year-olds ever should.
Her older sister Samantha died in a tragic car accident.
Her parents divorced.
Her younger sister was diagnosed with cancer.
Then Taylor came to Hope Reins.
After a powerful session riding Zeb — one of the largest horses on the ranch — she helped return him to his paddock.
That’s when another horse kept following her.
His name was Sammy.
Her sister Samantha’s nickname was Sammy.
The horse was wearing a purple fly mask — Samantha’s favorite color.
And this happened exactly one year after the accident.
But this wasn’t just a coincidence that made Taylor smile for a moment. It helped her begin to believe she was seen. Known. Not alone in her pain.
With her mentor Katherine and horses like Zeb and Sammy, Taylor is learning she can safely feel her grief instead of carrying it by herself. She’s beginning to find hope and healing again.
At Hope Reins, rescued horses become a bridge from trauma to transformation for hurting kids.
Every horse here is a hero.
But heroes like Sammy and Zeb need feed, training, medical care, and year-round support so they’re ready for the exact moment a child needs them most.
Right now, every donation will be DOUBLED through matching funds.
Will you help provide hope and healing for children like Taylor?
