NC State Math Circle Celebration - April 19

We are excited to announce our second Math Circle Celebration on Sunday, April 19, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in SAS Hall at NC State! The event will feature another series of exciting math talks, followed by fun games, puzzles, and activities.

Our fall event had over one hundred students and more than twenty volunteers from Natural Math, NC State, and UNC–Chapel Hill. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the math activities, and we truly appreciate the enthusiasm and support from our community.

Please complete the registration form: https://forms.gle/e4NzA3eLdNaCAkF97

(Registration is not required for attending the event, but it will be extremely helpful for us. Thank you for filling out this form!)
We would also greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word to neighbors and friends. Thank you for helping us share the joy of mathematics with young minds — we look forward to seeing you at the event!

What does it mean to be an event leader?
You will set up, run, and judge the event in the assigned room/gym. The state office has everything organized. When you check in the morning of the tournament, we’ll give you a box containing all the necessary items, tests, score sheets, and well-written step-by-step instructions on what to do. Instructional videos are being made to help explain setup & scoring for some events.

What does it mean to be a volunteer?
You are an assistant to an event leader. You’ll be in the room/gym with the event leader, helping them in whatever way they need. Typically, you’ll help judge by following a checkoff sheet, using a stopwatch, reloading a testing device, grading written tests, directing students to certain locations, proctoring tests, etc.

Happy to answer any questions and provide more details. Email: [email protected]

Come have fun with us and our littlest scientists!

“At its core, advocacy is love in action. It is the willingness to speak up, show up, and fight for what is right—not just for ourselves but for those whose voices are unheard, whose struggles go unseen, and whose paths need clearing. Advocacy is a deep expression of care, commitment, and connection. It is love that fights. Love that refuses to be silent. Love that demands change.”

Explore the ways in which advocacy can be an act of love for you and your learner.

Another one. This time for our STEM Educator-partners (Grant opportunity):

The EPICS in IEEE & TryEngineering Service Learning Grant Program empowers school-aged children (ages 5–17) to solve real-world problems through hands-on engineering. Students work in teams to follow a design process—identifying a challenge, designing a solution, building a prototype, and presenting their ideas—while developing key skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and empathy. Educators can receive up to $2,000 in funding for student prototyping materials and showcase needs.
