As promised, Nursing Mothers of Raleigh will be having one final hurrah as a group and we cordially invite all who have supported us through the years to come out to play. We will be hosting our final play date on May 18, 2025 at 1pm at the playground at Marsh Creek Park, 3050 New Hope Rd, Raleigh NC. Please bring a bag lunch and snacks for yourself and your children. This feels so bittersweet, and we hope to see you there to celebrate with us all our little group has been able to accomplish in our 56 year run. Although we have no formal guest list, please like this status so we can gauge how many we may expect to celebrate with us.

Additionally, please take a look at the resources we have compiled to help assist those who may come looking for assistance from our group. We do not wish to leave anyone empty handed when they inevitability come to our site, seeking non judgmental, science backed advice and solutions.

A Fond Farewell from Nursing Mothers of Raleigh
It is with great sadness that we announce the beginning stages of dissolving Nursing Mothers of Raleigh, an organization that has proudly supported breastfeeding families for over 50 years.
As the internet has evolved and breastfeeding support services in our state have expanded, attendance at our meetings has gradually decreased. Running this organization has always required a deep commitment of time and energy from our dedicated volunteers. We are fortunate that we are able to welcome new and exciting resources for the community!
This decision was not made lightly, and we can say with full confidence that the work we have done—and will continue to do individually—has had a lasting impact on the breastfeeding journeys of countless families.
Although we are closing our doors, we remain committed to helping others achieve their breastfeeding goals. Please stay tuned for additional resources and updates as we transition.
With gratitude,
Nursing Mothers of Raleigh Volunteer Counselors
