Do you enjoy playing card games? Our card playing hostess Vicki Strayer is back at the Bridge Café at First Alliance Church-- and will meet on Wednesday October 21st from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Come learn a new card game or share a favorite!

NOTE: This will be the LAST card playing event for 2026. (NO card party on Oct 29th.) However, Vicki hopes to restart her twice monthly game times in 2027 if there is interest for the new year.

Simply Elegant Christmas Crafts - Tuesday, October 27 from 1:00 - 3:00 in the Education Building next door to First Alliance Church (4400 Buffaloe Road). Make as many Christmas ornaments as you want for a $2.00 donation. Come for fun and fellowship while creating Christmas decor. There will be a sign-up sheet in the foyer of First Alliance Church. Come learn ballroom dance and more! No skills necessary. Couples needed; singles also welcome. Meet in the Education Building of First Alliance Church (4400 Buffaloe Road) on Thursday September 24th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm for an informal session of fun led by John and Connie Murphy, experienced dance instructors who have volunteered their time for anyone who wants to learn. This is the second year the Murphy's have shared their expertise, and last year was lots of fun!
Connie says, "I started taking ballroom dance classes when I was 12 years old, and I taught several classes for Johnson County Parks & Rec in the late 80's, but continuously since 2002. So, for over 20 years! "

We all remember where we were on 9/11 -- 25 years ago. Join us on Friday September 11th as we invite our community to a short service of remembrance and prayer from 8:40 am - 9:15 am at First Alliance Church, 4400 Buffaloe Road. We will meet outside so bring a lawn chair if you wish, and children are welcome. For details contact Carolann Stone 847-644-4864. Those who lost their lives that day, whether victims or heroes saving others, will be forever in our hearts.

Our popular "Come to the Table" dinners on Tuesday nights will start up again on September 1st at 6 pm, continuing every Tuesday through November 17. All are welcome to join their neighbors for a homemade soup, salad, bread and dessert meal at First Alliance Church's Bridge Café on 4400 Buffaloe Road, Raleigh. Suggested donation of $4.
During and after dinner we'll have opportunity to engage in focused table discussions to help us get to know each other better.
If you'd like to help cook or clean up, there's a sign up sheet in the foyer.
New this Fall is the option to be part of the after-dinner "Growing Gracefully" Bible study, led by Chip & Kathie Stansbury at 7 pm. in the Education Building next door. For more information on the Bible study contact the Stansburys at [email protected] or 703-405-8068 (Chip).

Do you enjoy writing and being with other writers? Then consider joining the Story Weavers Writers Club! We meet once/month - from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Bridge Café area of First Alliance Church. Our NEXT MEETING is Saturday September 19th. (See www.facraleigh.org calendar for dates and other events at FAC.) This informal gathering is a chance to share poems, short stories, memoirs or dramatic productions that we have written -- and encourage each other to write. You are welcome even if you can't come every week. We always have coffee available and you can bring a snack to share if you wish.
