Lightner YMCA Achievers program introduces teens in grades 6 - 12 to adults of color who guide them through experiences that prepare them for life after high school.

Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity College Signing Day 2026 held at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA... All high school graduates received a IPad and won a $50-$100 gift card to either Food Lion, Sam's Club, Circle K, and a few other places. Congratulations and enjoy this next phase of your lives. Remember to keep God first and stay true to yourselves.

Congratulations to Shelby Rittman Pettiford and her handsome husband on their recent celebration of their marriage.They were married on April 18, 2026. We wish you many years of martial happiness, love, and joy! We are so proud and happy for you and what the future holds for you. 💐🎉

Shelby was a star student and LYA Program participant. She even wrote her newspaper while she was in school. She participated in Youth and Government for many years while being in the program.

Mark Jr was a delight to have in the program and embraced and maximized every opportunity that came his way. He graduated with honors from East Carolina University.

Note: LYA program participants can sign up for community service hours too.

LYA last Summit of the year! Senior, AJ Keith led his Art portion of Senior Class. We really enjoyed painting what our hearts led us to paint. Great job!

We also enjoyed doing Yoga, Line Dancing, and Drumming.
