Celebrating 33 years of continuous service to the City of Raleigh, Pack 28 meets at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh. Purposes of Cub Scouting

Cub Scouting is a family-oriented part of the BSA (for

merly Boy Scouts of America) program designed for boys and girls who are in first through fifth grades (or are 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age). Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:

- Character Development
- Spiritual Growth
- Good Citizenship
- Sportsmanship and Fitness
- Family Understanding
- Respectful Relationships
- Personal Achievement
- Friendly Service
- Fun and Adventure
- Preparation for Boy Scouts (either with Boy Scout Troop 28 or at another Troop in the area)

Pack's 28 activities -- planned by leaders and boys -- relate to these purposes.

Our springtime camping trip is always a big hit with our Cubs and Parents alike. It is an easy introduction for first-time campers. Pack 28 families enjoy this event without cost or activity fees thanks to the success of our annual BBQ fundraiser.

Pack 28 learned about two more figures from the Civil Rights era during our February Pack meeting, Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali. Did you know that *both* were born with different names? Our mosaic of Nelson Mandela is a visible demonstration of a beautiful and meaningful whole that comes from each of our individual contributions.
