🚒 Congratulations to the 150 volunteer fire departments selected to receive a $10,000 Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program grant from State Farm®!

As we celebrate Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, we're proud to recognize these departments and the dedicated volunteers who serve their communities every day. These grants will help purchase critical equipment that keeps firefighters safe and strengthens emergency response.

🚒 BIG NEWS FOR SYLVARENA VFD! 🚒

We’re proud to serve our neighbors, and today we’re incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to share some exciting news!

Thanks to the State Farm Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program and the National Volunteer Fire Council, Sylvarena Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a $10,000 grant to help us purchase much-needed communication equipment and a PPV fan for house fires etc. and also that can be used for firefighter rehab when on a fire call.

This generous support will help us improve the safety of our firefighters and provide even better service and protection to the community we proudly serve.

A huge THANK YOU to State Farm and the NVFC for investing in volunteer firefighters and helping departments like ours continue to make a difference!

It is with the deepest sadness that we announcements the passing of Assistant Chief Freddie Leggett. Freddie joined the department when it was organized in the early 1970's. He served the department in many roles and loved his many years in the fire service.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced soon. Please continue to keep the department and the Leggett family in your prayers.
