The Raleigh Battalion Color Guard did an outstanding job during the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Change of Watch ceremony earlier this month. We are grateful for the opportunity and proud to have our cadets represent the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

NHL The Raleigh Battalion of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps had the honor of serving as the Color Guard at last Monday’s Hurricanes game at Lenovo Center.

2025 was an incredible year for us. We were thrilled to have our cadets, adult volunteers, families, and friends come together on December 20 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Raleigh Battalion at our annual awards presentation ceremony.

Raleigh Battalion had the incredible opportunity to visit the North Carolina Army National Guard’s Army Aviation Support Facility #1 in Morrisville last weekend.

We’re deeply grateful to CW4 James “Woody” Watkins for sharing his 30 years of experience and passion with our cadets. His informative and engaging tour provided our cadets with invaluable insight into the world of aviation. Future pilots = officially inspired.

PROMOTIONS!!! At last Saturday's drill, 9 cadets earned promotions. Please also join us in congratulating our newest Petty Officer, PO3 Alice Zhu, and in honoring PO3 Savannah Arnold, who received an Honorable Discharge after years of outstanding leadership and service.

Bravo Zulu to all our newly promoted cadets and our graduate for their hard work and dedication.

Sea Cadets from the Raleigh Battalion explored the 7.2 mile Sycamore Trail at Umstead State Park last Saturday- and they did it with teamwork and determination.

They didn’t just hike—they leveled up with hiking techniques, communications and wilderness survival skills.

Last week, our cadets put their creativity and teamwork to the test by designing and building boats made of aluminum foil, cardboard, plastic bags, cups, duct tape… The challenge? Make them float - and they did!

They also had the opportunity to explore a real boat up close, gaining hands-on experience in water safety.

season is almost here! Our cadets have returned from summer training programs across Maryland, Kentucky, Buffalo, and beyond.

They attended Navy League orientation, recruit orientation and advanced training like culinary arts, medical, wilderness survival, maritime industrial arts, and so much more.

But it wasn’t just about learning, friendships were forged with peers from all over the nation, making this summer one for the books.

Congratulations to Raleigh Battalion for receiving the 2024 Certificate of Honor recognized by the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps National Headquarters. And we are thrilled to be shortlisted as the Top Ten of John J. Bergen Award which is awarded annually to the most outstanding unit among more than 300 units nationwide.
