🌿 Growing Community at Broughton! 🐝🌱

We’re proud to support our local schools through Oakwood Garden Club grants! Together with Broughton PTSA, Tractor Supply Garner, and the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, we helped create a Certified Wildlife Habitat at Broughton High School.

This beautiful courtyard space provides a place for native plants and pollinators to flourish, while giving Broughton’s community a space to grow vegetables meaningful to their cultures. 💚

We love seeing gardens grow beauty, connection, and community! 🌻🦋

🌙✨ A little nighttime magic! Katie Peña’s Queen of the Night cactus put on quite the show last night!🌵🌸
These flowers typically bloom for just one night, opening after dark and fading by morning. 🌙 A one-night-only bloom — Mother Nature’s ultimate limited edition!💫. Thank you, Katie Katie Peña Art for sharing these photographs for us all to enjoy!

✨ Guess what this is! Swipe through for clues… can you figure it out before the big reveal? 🌿💚

➡️ Swipe to the end for the answer!

Fun Facts:
🌿 These moths are gentle pollinator relatives and an important part of the food web, helping keep nature in balance.
🌿 As adults, they spend their short lives finding a mate and ensuring the next generation of luna moths can thrive.
🌿 They don’t have mouths, so they don’t eat—instead, they rely on energy stored from their caterpillar stage.
🌿 Their beautiful, ribbon-like tails help protect them by confusing bats during flight.

Nature has a purpose for every creature—even one that lives for just a week. 💚
Answer: It’s a Luna Moth! 🌙

🌱 The Oakwood Garden Club traded garden gossip for farm facts during a visit to RCF !

Founded in 2011, Raleigh City Farm is growing more than vegetables—they’re cultivating community through education, volunteerism, and programs that help provide fresh produce to neighbors in need. We left inspired, informed, and maybe a little jealous of their veggies 🥬💚
