The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Phi Lambda Chapter recently hosted our Project Alpha: Mindset & Motion seminar at Millbrook Magnet High School, bringing together 37 young men for a powerful day of mentorship and brotherhood!

Turn your sound up and check out the full event recap video! From the morning energy to the final whistle, the day was packed with impactful moments, including our rotating breakaway sessions:

Personal Growth & Transformation (Led by Salahuddin Abdullah, Community Advocate)
Mental Health & Emotional Intelligence (Led by Steven Riley Sr., LCMHC, LPC)
Accountability & Consequences (Led by Bro. Judge Craig Croom)

As you can see in the video, it wasn’t all just talk. From the energy of our “Facts or Cap” icebreaker and the high-stakes Kahoot game (shoutout to our cash prize winners! 💰) to competing on the basketball court, these young men locked in all day. 🏀

A special thank you to our session facilitators and to all the Brothers who showed up to support and pour into the next generation. Your dedication makes this impact possible. 🤙🏾

Thank you to the parents, participants, and community for a game-changing event. We are just getting started!

Last Sunday, we proudly celebrated the 15th Anniversary of our National Black Signing Day Program. A chapter initiative under Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s national “Go To High School, Go To College” program, recognizing 24 outstanding students as they announced their post high school plans and committed to the next chapter of their educational journeys.

These students will continue their academic journeys across some of the top colleges and universities in the country, and we could not be more proud of what lies ahead for them.

One of the highlights of the day was awarding scholarships to 8 deserving students through the chapter’s fundraising efforts, along with a special scholarship presentation from the Eta Omicron Foundation.

It was truly an inspiring day celebrating the power of education, leadership, and opportunity. A huge thank you to Bro. James Clanton and Wake Baptist Grove Church for the amazing hospitality and support in helping make this milestone event a success.

Congratulations again to all of our students and college panelists. Keep striving, keep leading, and keep making us proud!
