ANNOUNCEMENT: Triangle Italian American Heritage Association will be selling pizza fritta at Festa Italiana North Carolina on September 19!

Pizza fritta (fried pizza) is a traditional Italian street food originating from Naples. Instead of being baked in an oven, pizza dough is deep-fried to create a crispy, puffy exterior and a soft, tender interior. It can be prepared as a savory main or a sweet treat. TIAHA's Tony Luise confirmed that their pizza fritta will be served with powdered sugar or cinnamon. If you have never had one, you should consider trying it at Festa on Hunter Street and Town of Apex Government Campus!

You didn't plan for the moment. It just arrived. 🍅

You were standing in the doorway watching him work the garden the way he always did, the same slow movements, the same careful hands on the tomato stakes. And something shifted. You saw his shoulders. You saw how his back curved a little now. You saw that he looked smaller than the man who used to fill every room he walked into.

Nobody told you this was coming. Nobody warned you that one ordinary Sunday afternoon, you would look at your father and understand, for the first time, that he was getting old. That the man who seemed like he would always be there, solid and permanent as the house itself, was moving through time just like everyone else.
