The Y Guides program, in existence since 1926, was founded by Harold S. Keltner, director of a YMCA in St. The program was created to support the father’s vital role as teacher, counselor and friend to his son. The Y Guides Program was started in Raleigh in 1968. Today, Y Guides program at the YMCA of the Triangle is the largest in the nation with over 13,000 participants. This program connects dads with sons and daughters through one-on-one. We are one week away from our first Captains and Dads Meeting of the year! The Captains meeting is required for all Second- and Third-Year Crew Captains, and the Dads meeting is required for all dads joining a new First-Year Crew🗒️✏️
