Cane Fighting and Self-Defense
Limited number of canes available, bring your own if you can.
This class is designed to teach beginner-friendly self-defense with a cane or other walking stick. The class is designed to be useful for people who are differently abled, but is open to people of all levels of physical ability. It will focus on the basics of blocking, striking, using the line of the body, and managing distance.
It is taught by two instructors with teaching ranks in multiple martial arts. Akiima Nicholls Shields has a teaching rank in Esgrima de Navaja, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, and Escrima/Arnis, as well as extensive experience in Aikido, Tai Chi, and cane fighting. Ian Shields has a teaching rank in Wun Hop Kuen Do, Kajukenbo, and Escrima/Arnis, as well as in Aikido, Tai Chi, and cane fighting.

VIRTUAL CLASS - Street Medicine and Resistance Herbalism - Cold-Related Injuries
This class teaches street medics how to prevent their own injury in the cold when serving their community at actions (climate or resistance-related), as well as how to treat cold-related injuries in their communities.
The herbalism portion is based on scientifically-grounded herbalism and peer-reviewed studies.
