Sonia Barnes founder and President along with several members of the North Carolina Black Women Empowerment Network (NCBWEN) provided crock pots to families living in hotels to help the families prepare food for their families.

On November 17, 2021 the North Carolina Black Women Empowerment Network (NCBWEN) held its annual Thanksgiving food drive and presented a crock pot, turkey and other food items to two families for Thanksgiving.
