Today is National Nonprofit Day! 🕊️

AMM's mission is to provide access to compassionate, whole-person primary care for working, uninsured adults to reduce health disparities in Wake County. Every day, this mission is made possible through donors, volunteers, and AMM's passionate and dedicated staff. Thank you!

Every day, small pollinators visit the flowers in our pollinator garden here at Alliance Medical Ministry (AMM) — honey bees among them, doing quiet but essential work. Without them, our garden couldn’t produce the food we're able to share with our patients.

This year National Honey Bee Day falls on August 15th, and we wanted to take a moment to appreciate one of the sweetest results of their labor: honey!

Honey has been used by humans for thousands of years as a food preservative, a currency, a religious offering, and even a remedy for wound healing. Today, researchers are catching up to what ancient traditions already knew — honey isn't just a sweetener; it's a genuinely amazing food, especially from a health standpoint.

National Immunization Awareness Month is a yearly reminder that vaccines are important at every age - not just childhood! Many vaccine-preventable diseases still circulate in the community, and making sure you're protected from them is a big part of staying healthy. AMM needs your help providing health kits for patients.

Want to host an engaging group service project without the hassle of coordinating everyone to come to our garden? Collect and assemble supplies for a kit build! We give these kits to our uninsured patients, and they fly off the shelves! There are four different types of kits you can build: Dental Kits, Flu Kits, Menstruation Kits, and Summer Care Kits.

AMM hosted two Kenan Urban Scholars from the UNC School of Medicine this summer.

AMM is incredibly grateful for our partnership with WakeMed. AMM works closely to serve the uninsured in Wake County, and we would not be able to do what we do without WakeMed's incredible support. Today, there are 75,000 uninsured in Wake County. WakeMed provides the overwhelming majority of care for this population.

They have the 10th busiest trauma center in the country and the 14th busiest ER in the country - which is incredible for this small community minded hospital.

Our community needs WakeMed to continue to do their great work as Wake County continues to be one of the fastest-growing counties in the country.
