🔥 Drumroll… announcing the SECOND competing chef for the 4th Annual Chef Rival: A World of Flavor Rooted in NC — Chef Michael Williams! 👨‍🍳✨

The hometown chef has entered the competition! Will home-field advantage help secure the win? We’ll find out on June 2nd!

Chef Michael Williams currently serves as Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage for Lilyann’s Steakhouse and the Cask & Cellar Wine Lounge, where he leads culinary development, beverage programs, and dining operations.

And the story behind makes it even more special. The community’s first high-end steakhouse was named in honor of Lilyann Melissa Williams, carrying forward the love and legacy of family through every detail — from the name to the branding itself.

Fresh produce is rolling into the Mobile Market this week at a location near you! Find avocados, apples, bell peppers, broccoli, cabbage, corn, oranges, red potatoes, russet potatoes, yellow onions, sweetpotatoes, yellow squash, and more. 🍉

Did you know? Bell peppers are packed with Vitamin C — in fact, one bell pepper can provide more Vitamin C than an orange! ❤️💛💚

Here are some easy and tasty ways to enjoy bell peppers raw
- Slice them for a crunchy snack with ranch, hummus, guacamole, or dip
- Add strips to salads for extra color and crunch
- Dice into pasta salad or quinoa bowls
- Layer onto sandwiches, wraps, burgers, or tacos
- Use as a scoop for dips instead of chips

Stop by the Mobile Market to stock up on fresh, nutritious produce for your family.

A "food desert" is a term used for an area which lacks proper access to nutritious groceries instead relies on convenience stores and gas stations for food which is significantly processed.

Eastern North Carolina, while it has beautiful terrain, lacks access to food which is nutritious for its residents. They are often forced to choose between driving an hour+ to find a grocery store, or purchasing conveniently placed "junk" food to fill their hungry bellies.

This is why Ripe for Revival makes my heart melt. A mobile grocery store; they visit towns and cities considered "food deserts" and assists their locals with affordably priced, and sometimes free food. I can't help but well up with gratitude when I think of the work this charity does for Eastern, NC. 🙏🥹

When Christine asked Rice and River to partner up with her, it was never a question of will we do it, but a matter of WHEN. We quickly came up with a day and time and so we present it to you now. This is a ticketed event and limited to the public. Purchase tickets while they are available and taste the freshness of the outer banks, the personalization of "Omakase," and a bite to eat for herbivores, carnivores and pescatarians alike.

If we could all take a piece of the love Ripe for Revival has for humans and pay it forward today, imagine the change we could make. Sending you that same love today, Washington. xoxo💗
