A message from our executive director:

As a champion of higher education and a dedicated and committed William Peace University trustee, I enjoyed connecting and having meaningful conversations with two very accomplished women about leadership success and professional growth.

I was reminded of the importance of including diverse voices at every level, especially in leadership roles, to genuinely change existing dynamics, foster a more inclusive dialogue, and ensure that everyone feels heard, respected, and valued rather than overlooked or dismissed.

President Jennifer Walsh, thank you for your willingness and openness to collaborating with others for professional growth and mentorship. More importantly, thank you for your dedication and commitment to William Peace University.

A sincere expression of gratitude is extended to the esteemed President Emerita of Meredith College, Maureen Hartford, for generously sharing her wisdom and insights. Her mentorship exemplifies the true essence of empathetic leadership.

I deeply appreciate my dear friend Sue Finley for showing how even ordinary individuals can achieve extraordinary feats.

The Dereck Whittenburg Foundation is honored to continue supporting William Peace University students through grants that alleviate student debt and encourage timely graduation.

We are proud to partner with Triangle Regen Medicine & Biologics! 🤝
Aligned with our mission to empower college students and higher education supporters, we are expanding learning opportunities to expose our community to innovative regenerative medicine alternatives. 💡🎓

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Thomas Buchheit, who oversees the Triangle Regen Medicine & Biologics Center. Dr. Buchheit is a former Chief of Pain Medicine at Duke University and provides non-surgical, biologic therapies for joint, nerve, and arthritis pain. We also wish to acknowledge Max Muller, PA-C, Director of Sports Medicine Outreach, for his initiative in establishing this collaboration and his comprehensive approach to education from multiple perspectives.

A Message from Our Executive Director:

Relationships are cultivated through connection, transformation, and intentional daily effort. They depend more on small, consistent acts of trust, communication, and vulnerability rather than grand gestures.

June has been a profoundly meaningful and impactful month for me as I traveled across the state and beyond, engaging with individuals who share my dedication to serving the community in a heartfelt and effective manner.

During a recent visit to my dear friend Sue at a beautiful retirement community, I was unexpectedly welcomed into a warm, inviting atmosphere that made the day especially memorable.

From this visit, three meaningful relationships began to take shape. Sue (right) introduced me to her lovely daughter, Caroline, who is now my summer intern. As I was leaving, I met the wonderful Dr. Maureen Hartford, who, during our warm conversation, shared that she served as the 7th president of Meredith College.

Dr. Hartford is an exceptionally accomplished woman who generously shared her journey from Michigan to become the first woman in Meredith College's history to lead the institution, serving as president from 1999 to 2011.

We have indeed come a long way!

I look forward to dedicating additional days to engaging with exceptional individuals who are receptive, willing, capable, and eager to serve with passion and unity.

Congratulations to the class of 2026 NCSU Hall of Fame inductees! A big shoutout to Wolfpack brother and respected DeMatha Catholic alum, Kenny Carr, who was the first DeMatha basketball player to play at NCSU.
