In October, I successfully delivered cancer care bags to our local center, thanks to the generosity of a friend's donation. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints experienced over the past two years, my ability to continue this service has been severely limited, with only a few deliveries made possible through the support of my friend and her church. I remain committed to providing these bags and rely heavily on donations of essential items. Given the prohibitive costs, establishing a non-profit organization is not feasible, meaning all donations are made in kindness without tax benefits. If you are based in Rainsville, AL, and can provide assistance, I encourage you to reach out. Gift cards loaded with gas money for treatment purposes are also greatly valued. A list of required items is provided below, with certain items being particularly crucial. Notably, peppermint candies are the most effective in alleviating nausea associated with cancer treatment, while unscented products such as germ-x and wet wipes are preferred due to sensitivity concerns.

As much as I love delivering the comfort bags to the local cancer center, I'm temporarily going to stop doing it. I'm tskingcare of my mother (since 2007), sub at school, hunting part time work, doing my husband's book work (because he's self-employed), living with my chronic pain issues, we're financially strsined right now, and I'm just tired. Exhausted.

If anyone has items, for bags, from the last donation request, please message me. We can arrange pickup and I'll get them delivered.

Comfort Care Bags (for local cancer center)

I'm trying one more time. If I'm unable to get items for bags this time I'll have to temporarily suspend doing this. I was able before covid to make bags alone, but with my husband's work slow, especially the last year and a half, and me unable to work full time, I've needed help. Times are hard all around, trust me, I get it. I understand if your unable to help. I'll post items below and I'll put "me" beside ones I can do,if unable to get all items spoken for then I'll just pass out what we do get.

How many of each item is in ().

Needed:

15 adult coloring books
15 pks of colored pencils
15 travel size unscented lotions
15 travel size germ X bottles or wipes
15 pks travel size tissues
15 unscented chapsticks
Bag peppermint hard candies
15 reusable bags (me)
Water (me)

Most of the above ^ items are found at Dollar General or Dollar Tree.

Optional:
10 fleece blankets (Walmart or Amazon, so on)

Deadline: Match 14th, 2024.

Reminder I'm not a 501c or registered charity. That costs money I don't have, so donations are not tax write offs. I do this because both my parents & several family membrane had cancer. This is something to help the patients, even if only in a small way.
