The Rahway Prodigy Music Program is a project by the Solidaridad Ecuatoriana Foundation. The foundation works with children in poverty-stricken areas of Ecuador to enhance their abilities through music and give them a chance to escape violence. The program's core uses "The System" as a model. The System is a music learning program instituted in Venezuela in the 1950s that has produced thousands of musicians and hundreds of local chapters worldwide.

We chose Rahway, New Jersey, for our pilot program outside of Ecuador because of the city's embrace of the arts. The Rahway Prodigy Music Program will start on July 5 and continue until August 6, and it will include in-person learning, an end-of-season concert, and a certificate of completion.

Our mentors are seasoned musicians, orchestra directors, and local volunteers.

Scholarships will be made available on a first-come basis.
