Our 2019 Thanksgiving effort is complete. We distributed 360 turkey sandwiches and duffle bags filled with winter supplies to the homeless living on the streets of Philadelphia, to the Salvation Army of Chester County, and to City Team, a homeless shelter in Chester. Thank you to everyone who assisted!

Day 2 is in the books - 360 turkey sandwiches ready for delivery on Thanksgiving morning! Tomorrow we will meet at the Armenian Sisters Academy at 530am and caravan into the city. More pictures soon....

Prep for our 2019 Thanksgiving distribution has begun. Today, students from the Armenian Sisters Academy, Marple Newtown High School, and Pope John Paul II High School assembled 360 duffle bags filled with bottled water, hand wipes, candy, deodorant, lip balm, napkins, oral hygiene supplies (dental floss, toothbrush, toothpaste), snacks, tissue packs, and wool gloves, hats, and scarves. Tomorrow we cook - Thanksgiving morning we distribute!!!

🙏🏻PLEASE HELP🙏🏻
⭐️EMERGENCY FUNDING NEEDED⭐️ Since December 2016, SOAR has helped Milena Grigorian and her family through our SCOH (Services to Children in their Own Home) Program. On January 23rd, Milena’s “domik,” located in Nubarashen, was destroyed by fire. I arrived in Armenia early this morning and visited the family this afternoon. Piles of ash and rubble remain, a few feet from the stone “shelter” where Milena, her mother, and her brothers now eat, sleep, and shield themselves from the winter weather.

We have pledged to rebuild, but the scope of our assistance depends on you.

With $5,000, we can clear the debris and make the shelter more habitable.
With $12,000, we can replace the domik with a small, stone house.
With $20,000, we can clear the debris, renovate the shelter, and build a larger stone house, with indoor plumbing, which they have never enjoyed.

We hope to start renovations/construction next week, so time is of the essence. Any donation, small or large, will contribute to the rebuilding of Milena’s home. Thank you in advance for your prayers and generosity.

A brief note of thanks to everyone who assisted with the cooking and assembly yesterday and with the early morning distributions today. An amazing job - especially by the kids! We cooked and assembled 240 packages in 2.5 hours yesterday and distributed them all in about an hour this morning. Happy Thanksgiving!

We're about 2 months away from Thanksgiving! Last year we distributed 120 care packages to the homeless living on the streets of Philadelphia. This year we will again be collaborating with the Armenian Sisters Academy (ASA) and increasing our target number to 240 care packages. What we need:

• Help with procuring 240 blankets, sports bottles, fruit cups, deodorant, umbrellas, gloves, scarves, and sweatshirts. Duffle bags, socks, hats, lip balm, hand sanitizer, nail clippers, snacks, and oral hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss) have already been donated!
• Securing financial donations and supermarket gift cards. Donations can be securely made online at http://turkeytaxi.org/.
• Cooking the turkey, making the sandwiches, and packing the items for transport.
• Delivering on Thanksgiving morning. We will meet at ASA very early Thanksgiving morning and head straight to Philadelphia.
