For 32 years the Jay Sigel Invitational has raised millions of dollars for breast and prostate cancer research. Just prior to the 2024 Jay Sigel Invitational, Jay was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Jay lost his battle with the disease this past April. All of us at The Jay Sigel Invitational are committed to continuing Jay's legacy of finding a cure for cancer and will be directing the 2025 Invitational proceeds to pancreatic cancer research, as well as continuing to fund breast cancer research.

Pancreatic cancer is currently the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Two factors contribute to this high mortality rate: 1) the fact that most cancers have already spread (metastasized) at the time of diagnosis; and 2) a lack of effective therapies for metastatic pancreatic cancer. Thus, the major challenges for research are to develop better methods for early detection and novel therapies for treatment of advanced cases.
