Alice's Place

Alice's Place is a non-profit established to help a single parent with temporary housing. Located in Radcliffe, Iowa.

Currently, the childhood home of Karen Stenberg Nelson and Red Stenberg is being renovated in honor of their mother, Alice Stenberg.

Happy First Day of Spring! It's a beautiful day in Radcliffe. We had a great lunch at The Bakery then we went to the cemetery. Today we honor and remember Alice Stenberg on the 36th anniversary of her passing.

Happy Thanksgiving! Meet Georgie and Charlie. They are the great granddaughters of Karen Stenberg and the great great granddaughters of Alice Stenberg. And, they are identical twins!

5 years ago today, Red Stenberg was gifted the old telephone office. This was his childhood home. His son decided his dad needed a project when he turned 80. Alice's Place was born. It is a tribute to his mother, Alice Stenberg. Today we celebrate Red. We are grateful for everything he does every single day. Happy 85th Birthday!! ❤️

Today is Veterans Day. We honor all those who have defended our country, past and present. Red Stenberg is a son, husband, brother, father, uncle, and grandpa. He is a family man and my hero. Due to the high volume of applications for Alice's Place, we have made the decision to temporarily close the application process. This will enable us to thoroughly evaluate each application and ensure that all applicants are given appropriate consideration. If necessary, we will reopen the application process in the future. ❤️

Alice's Place is completely furnished. There are 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and a bathroom that includes a full size washer and dryer.

We are so excited to help another family! We are currently accepting applications for Alice's Place. We are anticipating being ready the first or second week of September. To qualify, applicants should be at least 18 years old and single. The single parent should be employed and have a car. Alice's Place will provide rent free housing for 1-2 years. We will also pay building insurance and taxes. The applicant will be responsible for utilities, cable, internet, and personal insurance. Spread the word! Applicants should express interest and request an application by email.
