K9 Bane Hero Foundation K9 Bane was the 1st K9 for the St. Francis PD (WI). He had DM & fought for his life. On May 9, 2024, Bane traded his wheels for wings. K9 Officer (Retired)

🐾As we leave May 9th behind and continue toward summer, I wanted to take one last moment to remind you of the strength and dignity K9 Bane showed us all during his battle against DM. He humbled me and taught me perseverance. He showed me that anticipatory grief makes you appreciate every moment with those we love. 💙

💙For 709 days, K9 Bane and I took a very public journey with you on social media. I posted about our struggles, our memories, and our good times. The K9 Bane Hero Foundation was in the first year and we were already making a difference.

For the last two years, we have K9 Bane Villagers that have had reoccurring monthly donations of $7.09. These donations allow us to provide for monthly items, such as medication, that our retired K9s need.

Today, to honor K9 Bane and our Bane Foundation heroes, if you are able, please consider a $7.09 reoccurring, tax-deductible donation, in honor of our good-boy K9 Bane. 🐾💙

💙Sometimes words escape me when I need to describe the heartbreak.

May 9, 2014, we graduated from the K9 academy together. May 9, 2024, I walked his final journey with him and helped him cross the bridge.

My 10 years with Bane were filled with tears, laughter, success, failures, friendship and love. There's no greater gift than to share that with another soul. I'm blessed to have called him my partner and humbled by the lessons he taught me.

Continue to rest easy butthead. Not a day goes by that I don't feel you by my side💙
