SRKA - SHRM Racine/Kenosha Area Chapter

We are an affiliated chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and serve HR Professionals We typically meet on the third Thursday of the month.

SRKA was founded in 2007 by a group of HR leaders from both Racine and Kenosha. These leaders determined that the area was in need of a SHRM Chapter and worked diligently to get our Chapter up and running. The Chapter has continued to grow over the years and we welcome new members. Our Chapter offers networking opportunities and seminars at least ten times per year. We alternate between meeting locations in Racine and Kenosha and between breakfast and lunch meetings to accommodate our members. Our seminars are typically approved for HRCI Credit. The purpose of our page is to build engagement between members, potential members and the HR community of the Racine/Kenosha, WI area. We will post information about events, Chapter news, important news from the State and National SHRM, as well as, job opportunities. 🏛️ SHRM Advocacy in Action: Driving Workplace Impact in Wisconsin

Members of our SHRM Racine & Kenosha Area chapter — Diane Henderson, Corah Schopp, and Jane Kurylo — alongside Wisconsin State Council SHRM State Director Jeff Palkowski, recently sat down with Congressman Bryan Steil for an insightful in-district meeting at FISCHER USA, Inc. in Racine, Wisconsin.

💡 Key Priorities Discussed

We discussed three core SHRM Advocacy priorities shaping the modern workforce:

•Strengthening the Education-to-Employment Pipeline: With attracting, hiring, and retaining skilled talent remaining a top challenge across Wisconsin’s 1st District, we discussed actionable strategies—including expanding apprenticeship programs and deepening partnerships with local high schools and technical colleges.

•Worker Caregiving: Addressing critical support systems for working families to maintain retention and well-being.

•Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Community Impact: We explored how AI is reshaping workplaces and local communities, including the infrastructure and energy demands of regional data centers. Navigating an AI-driven future requires ongoing dialogue, transparency, and data-driven insights.
