Happy Juneteenth! 🩷💚

Central Region proudly commemorates Juneteenth, a powerful celebration of freedom, resilience, culture and Black excellence.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free. Juneteenth stands as a reminder of both the progress we celebrate and the continued work required to achieve justice, equity, and opportunity for all.

Today, we honor the strength of our ancestors, the richness of our history, and the generations who fought, and continue to fight, for liberation and equality. May we never stop educating, empowering, uplifting and investing in our communities.

As we gather with family, enjoy the music, food, fellowship and traditions that make this day so meaningful, let us also recommit ourselves to preserving our history and building a brighter future for generations to come.

What a wonderful day at the Racine Juneteenth Parade! Members of Alpha Gamma Psi Omega enjoyed engaging with community members, sharing voter education resources, and delivering smiles and candy along the parade route. Of course, we had to get a little strolling in too!. 🩷💚 We are honored to serve and love when we have the opportunity to connect with those in our community!

The members of Alpha Gamma Psi Omega proudly participated in the Racine Juneteenth Parade. Juneteenth has long been acknowledged within the Black community, celebrating freedom, resilience, and the significant legacy of our ancestors. We were grateful to join our community in keeping this important tradition alive, honoring our past as we continue to advocate for liberation and freedom.

Our second week of Black Dollar Days and of June was a beautiful endeavor as we were challenged to "Glow Different!". Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black, members of Alpha Gamma Psi Omega supported Black and minority-owned beauty, wellness, and self-care businesses.

As the school year comes to a close, we proudly congratulate Alpha Gamma Psi Omega's 2025–2026 Youth Leadership Institute cohort!

Throughout this inaugural year, we have had the privilege of working alongside four remarkable young leaders. Each student has demonstrated kindness, thoughtfulness, a willingness to learn, and strong leadership potential. Watching them grow, engage, and contribute has been both inspiring and rewarding.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have these outstanding youth as our very first YLI cohort, and we are confident that they will continue to accomplish great things in the years ahead. We celebrate their achievements and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their schools, communities, and beyond!

Our first week of Black Dollar Days and first of June was a wonderful success as we proudly joined the call to "Feed the Movement!". Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black, members of Alpha Gamma Psi Omega supported Black and minority-owned businesses throughout our community. We were honored to patronize and support incredible local food and beverage establishments!

The Youth Leadership Institute students of Alpha Gamma Psi Omega recently participated in a community trash cleanup in the uptown Kenosha area, helping to remove litter and create a cleaner environment.

In addition, the students assisted our chapter in assembling Power Packs as part of the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP) Program, an initiative of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, focused on addressing childhood hunger in local communities. Each Power Pack provides students with simple, nonperishable meals and snacks to help ensure they have access to food over the weekend when school meals are unavailable.

Through their participation in these projects, our Youth Leadership Institute students continue to demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact through service and community engagement.

It’s the first of June, and we are ready to, “Feed the Movement!”

This week, we are Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black by intentional spending with Black-owned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food trucks, and beverage brands.

Our collective goal is $8 million this month, and it starts with just $19.08. That’s one delicious meal, one specialty coffee, or one sweet treat. Let’s help “Build Our Economic Wealth,” one bite (or sip!) at a time.
