This weekend, Malt House Theater: Home of the Haylofters, Burlington, WI opens the classic "Dial 'M' for Murder."

Tony Wendice married his wife for her money; now he plans to murder her for it. The classic suspense thriller is a smart, compelling update of Knott’s tale of jealousy, deception and homicide.

Running two weekends through October 25, tickets are available on their website at TheHaylofters.com.

This Friday, October 16, it's a Poetry and Music Collision at Vintage and Modern Books. Renowned poet, musician and artist Bryon Cherry brings his new project Ash Circle along with performances by Richard Meier, Nick Demske, Cody James and Jay Mollerskov. Sure to be a fantastic evening!

On Saturday evening, October 17, join Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin in "Honoring 250 Years of America."

Featuring the voices of Choral Arts Society elevated by brass and percussion, Guest Artist-In-Residence and Poet Laureate of Massachusetts Regie Gibson, recitation by Guest Young Artists from local high schools, and a 30th Anniversary performance of Glenn Burleigh’s Lamentation and Celebration, this historical program will include “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and more.

In recognition of the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, the CAS will be honoring local first responders by inviting them to join in singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Racine Theatre Guild brings back The WhiskeyBelles for one night only on Saturday, October 17. The Belles are widely known for captivating shows featuring their own take on classic and obscure vintage-country, Americana, folk-revival and roots-country tunes, with their witty originals sprinkled in.

Last season, The WhiskeyBelles sold out at RTG. Tickets are $20 and available on the racinetheatre.org website or by calling (262)633-4218.

Join Stitched Quilt Shop and Hotel Verdant on Saturday, October 24, for a special ticketed evening with Eli McCann, author of "Stitched."

The evening will begin with a reading from "Stitched," followed by a conversation exploring the stories and inspiration behind the book, with time for an audience Q&A.
The evening will conclude with a book signing and an opportunity to meet Eli.

Artists Gallery in Racine presents "The Dynamic Still Lifes of Juli Janovicz" all through October. Check it out for free, Wednesday - Saturdays until October 31.

Juli Janovicz uses pencil and watercolor to bring a delicate study to the integration of time and life. She captures time in each still life as it develops in its vase, until it fades. Her extensive study of cottage gardens and botanicals as well as her own cottage garden has given her insight and inspiration. Since Juli often utilizes crystal and glass vases, she portrays and interprets the refraction of light, water, and color.

Join Racine Children's Theatre this weekend for the classic story of "The Princess & the Pea." Performances are Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11.

The overbearing Queen has already determinedher son, Prince Handsome, will marry a princess, and only a princess. So when a muddy and very dirty, supposed Princess Jasmine catches the Prince’s eye unexpectedly, the Queen insists she pass the “pea under the mattress” test to prove she really is a princess. Only it’s not one thin mattress we’re talking about here, it’s thirteen mattresses, four feather comforters, and eight queen-size pillows! The comic jester tries to help her while an absent-minded king and cheeky announcer add to the merriment as the Prince and Princess try to find their happily ever after.

River Bend Nature Center hosts Chainsaw Carving and an Art Forest Festival this Sunday, October 4, from 9 - 2:30.

Watch chainsaw artists at work - and pick your favorites to bid on when all carvings go to auction at 2:15.
There will also be an Art Fair with nature-focused handmade works of art for sale

The day features much more, including photo ops, a story trail, food trucks, and canoe and kayak rentals.
