Racine VITA Program: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. Volunteers from the community help prepare basic, current-year tax returns for eligible taxpayers free of charge.

The Racine Kenosha Community Action Agency, Inc.'s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers free tax help to income eligible households. VITA helps working families take advantage of all of the tax credits they are eligible for including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC) and education credits. RKCAA, with support from the City of Racine, Educator’s Credit Union, the

Forest County Potawatomi Foundation, Guaranty Bank, the Internal Revenue Service, the Racine Community Foundation, the Racine County UW-Extension, the Racine County Workforce Development Center, the Racine Public Library, United Way of Racine County, and Wells Fargo Bank is bringing this nonprofit program back to the community.

Everyone should take a moment to say goodbye to our VITA Coordinator, Janice Jordan. Tomorrow is her last day, unless she comes back to us next fall (which could still happen). She did an awesome job with us, and we'd love to have her back, but until then, we wish her well!

Well, another tax season has come to a close. As of today, the client surveys are very positive: 205, or 54% of clients surveyed, responded "Excellent" to all 9 questions about VITA service this year! Thank you to all of our volunteers for continuing to provide such excellent service to the Racine community.
