About Us
We are creating alliances with schools, coaches and parents to change the way kids learn and experience sports. We want to find new ways to help coaches and parents better understand the reason kids play sports! What we do
We are a sports based youth development organization focusing on teaching life skills in afterschool and enrichment programs to kids in preschool, kindergarten, primary,
and middle school. Our instructors teach sports in a non-competitive environment while making the game fun again! Our Programs - Focus on life skills
Everyone will learn about life skills and how to apply them to sports, school and at home. We intentionally focus on these life skills:
-Having confidence to know you can do something.
-Trying hard and not giving up.
-Being courageous enough to try something new.
-Always being positive regardless of the outcome.
-Encouraging others to be their best.
-Working together as a team.
-Understanding that everyone has an important role.
-Listening to learn from others.
-Being truthful about what happens.
-Respecting others no matter what.
-Being kind and sharing with others.
-Fair play on and off the field or court.
-Having fun even when it's hard and things don't go your way.
-Always doing your best. While the purpose is teaching kids about life skills, our instructors will also teach sports and physical fitness focusing on self improvement in a non-competitive environment. We want kids to experience a variety of sports and activities that encourage them to do their best, and not compare themselves to others. What Makes Us Different
Our philosophy is to nurture the kids emotionally and socially while improving their coordination and motor skills by introducing them to new sports and games in a non-competitive environment. It seems we have forgotten the reason sport is important. It is not to become the best player, on the best team, to win all the championships, to get a full scholarship to the best division 1 college, for the best chance of playing professionally. It is to help every player become the best person they can be. To do this, we want to focus on the life skill while teaching kids multiple sports. It’s all about fun
We believe kids play sports mostly for two reasons:
To have fun. To play with their friends. Our instructors focus on fun while doing activities that will improve their skills as opposed to just doing skills and drills. Every player is important
We believe everyone should experience playing in every game. In doing this, every player is taught they have something to offer and they are a very important part of the team. Good Sports
Teaching kids to be good sports starts with teaching coaches and parents to be good sports. One way our coaches do this is to partner with parents to provide a better understanding of the kids perspective of the sports experience and how the parents behavior affects the kids. We believe the behaviour and expectations of the parents has a significant impact on the outcome of the players. Multiple Sports
We encourage parents and kids to avoid early specialization and participate in as many different sports as they can all the way through senior year in high school if possible. Playing multiple sports builds different muscle strengths that contributes to preventing overuse injury. Skills from one sport aids abilities in another sport. Benefits of playing both individual and team sports occur from the different mentalities needed as an individual. Learning how to handle the nervousness and stress in track, tennis, golf, and other individual sports helps when shooting winning free throws in basketball at the end of the game or taking penalty kicks in soccer during a shoot out. Different sports provides new challenges and coaches to refresh kids and prevent burnout from playing the same sport all year round. Safe
Our coaches create a safe physical and psychological environment that is judgement free. This allows players to try new things without the risk of embarrassment, bullying or disappointment. When players are allowed to try new things and fail, they can learn and improve so they can succeed.
“I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games.
26 times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Michael Jordan As quoted in Nike Culture : The Sign of the Swoosh (1998), by Robert Goldman and Stephen Papson, p. 49
