Since February of 2026, the Youth Volunteer Corps of Racine County, Volunteer Center of Racine County, and Racine Police Department have been collaborating to bring “Rock the Block” back for 2026, and we are proud to say we had a very successful event!
All this week youth and adult volunteers have been working tirelessly in the neighborhood surrounding the Wadewitz COP House on Mead Street. Between 50 and 60 volunteers showed up each day to complete this project. Volunteers worked on cleaning up the yards and landscaping over 20 properties in the area. Not only that, they did a mass street clean up, walking the neighborhood picking up garbage and debris. They also gave the Wadewitz COP a sprucing up. Everything done in the neighborhood was done free of charge, with no cost at all to the homeowner and or tenants.
None of this would be possible without our wonderful sponsors! They helped to pay for volunteers to have lunch, snacks, and water all week, and helped pay for all the materials used to fix up all the yards. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn’t have done this without your support:

We offer year round youth volunteer opportunities at no charge. With 70-100 different opportunities a year, your youth can get immersed in helping our community!
