🎬 Join us tomorrow for the Racine Video Production Workshop Student Film Screening!

For the past year, local high school students have been writing, filming, editing, acting, directing, recording audio, and bringing their creative ideas to life. Tomorrow, we get to celebrate their hard work on the big screen.

Will also be screening some student short films from our archives.

The screening will feature student-created films, including our latest production, “Stranger’er Things,” along with a variety of projects completed throughout the years.

Whether you’re a filmmaker, a supporter of the arts, a parent, or just curious to see what local students can create, we’d love to have you join us.

🎥 Come support the next generation of storytellers.

📅 Friday, June 5
🕕 6:00 PM

Today, some of these students are graduating from college.

One of the greatest rewards of this work is watching young people discover their talents, build confidence, and grow into the people they’re meant to become. We’re proud to have been a small part of their journey and excited to see where life takes them next. 🎓

A little vlog created by one of our summer interns during the Volunteer Center of Racine County’s Rock the Block 2023.

Our crew had the opportunity to both document and participate in a community beautification project alongside the Village of Mount Pleasant Police - Lakeside COP House.

We cleaned up the neighborhood around the Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department's Lakeside COP House. Helping paint fences, doing yard work, and meeting the neighbors.
It was a great day of service, teamwork, and community pride.

Thank you to the Volunteer Center of Racine County and the Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department for allowing our students to be part of the experience.

The 2023 Racine Video Summer Teen Intern Program was made possible thanks to support from United Way of Racine County's Equity Innovation Fund, the City of Racine, Wisconsin, Educators Credit Union, RUSD Extended Learning (Racine Unified Schools), our volunteers, community donations, along with fiscal receiver assistance from Create Wisconsin.

We tried the birria pizza at La Taquiza Guadalajara. The cheese pull was unreal, the consomé was calling our name, and we answered every single time. Other firends went deep on the birria menu because once you start, there is no stopping. This is a family-owned spot bringing real Jalisco-style food and doing it with so much flavor and soul. No lettuce, no tomato, no drama.

Matt and Jason had the opportunity to visit TRUE Skool, Inc. back in February, and it was genuinely inspiring to see the creative energy and community they’ve built in Milwaukee.

From music production and DJ equipment to visual art, media, dance, and youth leadership programs, TRUE Skool is creating spaces where young people can learn, express themselves, and connect through hip-hop culture and the arts.

Since 2004, TRUE Skool has provided free after-school and summer programming for youth ages 14–19 while also offering workshops and opportunities for the broader community. Huge thanks to everyone there for showing us around and sharing what you do.

Forget the plastic jack-o-lanterns and drugstore skeletons. These onyx skulls are something else entirely. Hand-carved from genuine onyx, they bring a dark elegance to your home that lasts long after Halloween is packed away.

And honestly? There's something deeper here. The skull has been a symbol of memento mori for centuries, a quiet reminder to live fully, to cherish what matters, because nothing is permanent. Having one on your shelf isn't morbid. It's philosophical. It's beautiful.

This Halloween, decorate with intention. Decorate with meaning. Decorate with something that won't end up in a landfill on November 1st.
