I can’t believe we are already four weeks into Super Saturday!
In just four short weeks,
Restoration Ministries has enrolled and served 57 young people between the ages of 6 and 17—and what we have been able to accomplish together has been nothing short of amazing.
We have helped seniors clean, w**d, plant, and care for crops at the St. Paul Gardens.
We restored, renewed, and dedicated a Healing Garden as a place of peace and healing for our entire community.
We filled a community lending library with more than 50 children’s books and collected over 100 additional books to keep it stocked.
We have served 325 meals to youth and their families.
We have introduced central-city children to STEM activities and concepts that are building their confidence, curiosity, and belief in what they are capable of doing.
We formed reading clubs, purchased books, created hands-on learning experiences, and hired 8 young people to participate in our youth employment and job-training program.
Most importantly, Saturday after Saturday, we have provided a safe place where children can learn, grow, develop, laugh, build relationships, and simply enjoy being children.
HOWEVER, the truth is that none of this would have been possible without our amazing volunteers!!!!!
This post is not simply aboyt the things we’ve accomplished. It is about everything we have accomplished TOGETHER!
To every person who has cooked or donated food, served meals, read books, led an activity, chaperoned a trip, worked in the gardens, welcomed children, cleaned up, carried supplies, encouraged a young person, or simply showed up when help was needed—THANK YOU!!!
Your time, your hands, your heart, and your willingness to serve are helping us sustain this program and make a real difference in the lives of children and families.
We see you!
We appreciate you!
We could not do this without you!
We are hopeful as we seek financial support during the next grant cycles, foundations, corporations, businesses and community partners will recognize the impact of this much needed work and invest in helping us sustain and expand it.
But until those resources come, we will continue showing up because we believe in these young people, their families, and the future of our community.
Please help us celebrate our amazing volunteers!
