Wallace Community Center

Wallace Community Center The Wallace Community Center is located in the Alidore community in Raceland, LA. Dedicated to empowering youth and building lasting community connections.

The Wallace Community Center was established to strengthen and support the Alidore community. Named in honor of Rev. Lloyd Wallace, the center recognizes his lifelong dedication and service to the parish. The facility also houses the Head Start Program, so all community events and programs take place after Head Start hours. Events held at the center must be non-profit and focused on serving our re

sidents. At the Wallace Community Center, our purpose is to uplift the community; serving one child, one family, and one community at a time. We are proud to provide a welcoming space for ages five to seventeen to connect, grow, and build lasting relationships. For more information about our program or to inquire about hosting a non-profit event, please contact Danielle Ard at [email protected].

One of our favorite things is showing up for our kids ๐Ÿ’™

Thereโ€™s nothing better than watching them walk across that stage, receive their awards, and see how proud they are of themselves. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do every single day.

We are so proud of each and every one of our kiddos and all the hard work theyโ€™ve put in this school year. Keep shining, weโ€™ll always be one of your biggest cheerleaders! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a great day. We love being able to bring our community together like this! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Shoutout to 3 of our middle school All-Stars!!๐Ÿ€

Sta'Leeah Cleveland, Germany Harvey, and Za'Myri Gabriel who have been selected to represent Lafourche Parish in the 2026 All-Star game!

We are so proud of these hardworking athletes!! ๐ŸŒŸ

Huge congratulations to the following basketball players who have been selected for the 2026 Middle School All-Star game.

A true floor general and jack of all trades, Sta Leeah Cleveland will represent the lady cubs after leading the team in both points and assists on the season helping to give the squad its first winning record in years.

The mighty cubs boys team will be represented by Germany Harvey and Za Myri Gabriel. Germany broke the school record this season with 614 points good for an average of over 25 a game while sharpshooter Za Myri sunk 3 after 3 and used his relentless permiter defense to help carry the team to a 6-1 finish in the parish.

These student-athletes will compete alongside other representatives from Lafourche Parish as they battle against the Terrebonne Parish All-Stars later this month.

We know they will represent our school well and this honor is much deserved after the dedication and hard work theyโ€™ve shown all year.

Yesterday our middle schoolers participated in a powerful (and super fun) connection activity ๐Ÿ’™

We played a game where each student shared something they liked or disliked. As they spoke, they held onto a piece of string and passed it to someone else who felt the same way. With every share and every pass, our web grew bigger and stronger.

By the end, we could literally see how intertwined and connected we all are. What started as individual thoughts turned into one big web; a reminder that even when we feel alone or think no one understands, there is always someone who can relate.

Moments like this help our kids build empathy, confidence, and a sense of belonging. And thatโ€™s what itโ€™s all about ๐Ÿ’ซ

Our kids are thriving! ๐ŸŒŸ

Thanks to our new homework system, they are knocking out homework so fast and now have more time each day to do what they love; playing, learning, and growing together.

From building with blocks ๐Ÿงฑ, to shooting hoops ๐Ÿ€, spiking volleyballs ๐Ÿ, tossing footballs ๐Ÿˆ, and enjoying card games โ™ ๏ธ, our youth are making the most of every moment.

Playtime isnโ€™t just fun, itโ€™s how they build confidence, teamwork, and creativity. ๐Ÿ’›

Our Cookies with Cops event was nothing short of AMAZING! ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ’™

Our youth had the opportunity to sit, laugh, talk, and build real connections with the incredible officers, SROs, and cadets who took time out of their busy schedules to simply show up for them. Those conversations, smiles, and shared moments are what community is all about.

Events like this truly matter. Research shows that positive interactions between young people and law enforcement significantly improve trust and reduce fear. Youth who report having positive relationships with officers are more likely to feel safe in their communities and seek help when they need it. Thatโ€™s powerful.

We are beyond grateful to the officers, SROs, and cadets who poured into our youth yesterday. Your presence makes a difference in ways that go far beyond one afternoon of cookies and conversation.

Thank you for helping us build bridges, strengthen trust, and show our young people that they are seen, valued, and supported. ๐Ÿ’™

A huge thank you to St. Mary's Nativity School, for supporting the center with the donation of brand new outdoor toys for our kids! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿˆ

Our children are already enjoying more outdoor play, movement, and fun because of your generosity.

We are so grateful for a community that supports our youth and helps make our center such a positive place to be! ๐Ÿ’™
