Ok here it is..we’ll be releasing 5,000 pure Florida largemouth fingerlings into Lake Cataouatche on Thursday June 25 at 7:30am at Pier 90!

The LDWF biologists said they won’t need any assistance this round, but anyone that wants to launch a boat and do a “ride along” is more than welcome. Much like our inaugural fish release this past October 17..I’ll have Beck with me so we can document the event with his drone.

Not one dollar of RAU’s $$ will be spent on this. American Sportfish generously donated the fish and after talking with Zane LeBlanc and his crew at LDWF we all agreed Lake Cataouatche would be the best recipient at this time.

So Thank You American Sportfish for this donation and strengthening our relationship..we look forward to doing business with you guys for many years to come!!!

For every raffle that is purchased between now and Steve Dufrene 's Annual Catfish Tournament weigh-in at Beck's on Saturday March 28 your name will go into a drawing where when we pull the winner at 7:30PM…that individual will get to choose a child to be the recipient of a Kid’s Lifetime Hunting & Fishing License (value $500) on behalf of Responsible Anglers United.

Just to be clear, RAU has never spent a dollar of the money we raise to buy a Lifetime License..and this will be the 2nd one we give away this year. The 1st was given away at our event on 1/31/26 and donated by Chris Babin n Gypsy Babin. This one is being donated by everyone’s favorite..the always generous Jarrod &Theresa's Wrecker Service !!!!!

Tickets can be purchased from a RAU Committee Member or on our website responsibleanglersunited.com. If you go to purchase a raffle on the website and you see “1 Ticket for $35 or 2 for $40” allow me to explain.

When we first rolled out this trip months ago tickets were set at $35 each..then we decided to bring it down to $20 each, but the system wouldn’t allow us to eliminate the “1 Ticket for $35.” So in an attempt to correct the issue..we just went with “2 Tickets for $40.”

Plz DO NOT purchase just 1 ticket and pay $35..when you can spend $5 more and get 2.

As of this morning Board Member Jason Adams spoke to everyone involved in our upcoming fish release in Lake Cataouatche. American Sportfish were ready to come in from Alabama next Thursday..but that date won’t work for our LDWF biologist Zane LeBlanc and his crew.

We our getting a date coordinated and will be making an official announcement very soon!!!

A huge THANKS to Kelci and Jacob Dubois of Thibodaux Tackle for putting together an awesome bundle..and also to Jacob Blouin of Blouin’s Marine Works for chipping in a push pole and some other items to the bundle!

Thank you Brison Savoie for pulling the 2 winners which were Quentin (aka Q) Gondran and Colton Boudreaux (courtesy of Amy Boudreaux.) Although Q’s sons already have Lifetime Licenses he still chose to take the license and gift it to his nephew…congrats winners!!!!!

As always RAU did not spend our own money on the license. That’s the 5th Lifetime License we’ve given away in 5 months and this one was paid for by one of our committee members who has asked to remain anonymous.

Well I guess I got ahead of myself on Friday when I announced that “the weather was gonna be great”. For those of you you who reside under a rock, it was not!!! 😂…but 14 teams took their wet ass in stride and made the best out of what was out of our control.

Huge THX to all the competitors…and Marty for bringing the scale and being our weigh master!!!

PLEASE READ:

A couple days ago I posted that for every raffle purchased since March 29 for Tyler’s Fishing Trip of a Lifetime to Lake Champlain will go into a drawing where we’ll be pulling 2 winners after the weigh-in this Saturday.

I mistakenly left out the fact that in order to win you MUST BE PRESENT. Once again the 2 prizes will be either gifting a kid with a Lifetime Hunting and Fishing License..or a merchandise package provided by Thibodaux Tackle.

Whoever is the 1st winner picks the prize they’d prefer and the 2nd winner will receive the remaining prize. Without the winners being there it could make things messy..so that’s why we’re requiring the winners to actually be there.

We will be selling raffles at the weigh-in.
