September 11, 2001.
For some, it is history. For many of us, it is a day we can still feel.
We remember where we were. We remember the images. We remember the names and faces that came afterward. And we remember watching thousands of Americans raise their hands to serve, knowing exactly what that service could cost them.
That matters to us at Wood County Ruck for the Fallen.
Every year when we put weight on our backs and walk those miles together, we do it because remembering should require something from us.
Today, we remember the 2,977 lives taken 25 years ago.
We remember those who ran toward the danger.
We remember those who answered the call in the years that followed.
And we remember the families who still carry their absence.
This is part of why we ruck.
We carry the weight because they carried so much more.
Never forget. 🇺🇸
