July 27 – Korean War Veterans Armistice Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the brave Americans who served during the Korean War and remember the sacrifices they made in defense of freedom.

On July 27, 1953, the fighting ended with the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement. While the guns fell silent, no formal peace treaty was ever signed.

Often called the “Forgotten War,” the Korean War should never be forgotten. More than 1.7 million Americans served, and over 36,000 gave their lives. Countless others returned home carrying the physical and emotional scars of war.

To our Korean War veterans:
Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to our nation. Your service helped preserve freedom for generations to come, and your legacy continues to inspire us.

Today, and every day, the Wood County Marine Corps League proudly remembers your service and honors your sacrifice.

Never Forgotten. Always Honored.
