🚨 PROGRESS UPDATE: Little Free Pantry – Quinton 🚨

Y’all… we are SO close! 🙌🏾 The new pantry shed is officially in place and we couldn’t be more excited about the progress being made. What started as a challenge has quickly turned into something even stronger, safer, and better for our community.

We’re not quite ready to receive donations or stock items JUST yet — there are still a few finishing touches and setup details we need to complete before reopening — but the vision is coming together beautifully and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! 🏡✨

This new setup will help us better protect donations, keep items safer for families, and create a more secure and sustainable pantry for the future.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared posts, encouraged us, prayed for us, and supported this project every step of the way. CommUNITY showed up BIG for Quinton and we are incredibly grateful. 💙🩵

🚨 IT’S OFFICIAL… THE NEW PANTRY HAS LANDED! 🚨

WE ARE EXCITED! 💙🩵

Our brand new Little Free Pantry Quinton structure is officially here and we’ll be picking it up and beginning assembly over the next few days! This upgrade has been a true commUNITY effort, and we are so grateful for every donation, share, prayer, encouraging message, and person who rallied behind this project.

What started as a temporary setback is quickly turning into an even stronger comeback.

We should be back up and running in no time. Better, safer, and more secure than before and we cannot wait to continue serving our commUNITY with love, dignity, and compassion.

This pantry belongs to the commUNITY, and because of YOU, the mission continues. ✨

🚨 Important Update: Temporary Closure – Little Free Pantry - Quinton

CommUNITY, we want to keep you informed.

Out of an abundance of caution and care for the health and safety of those we serve, the Little Free Pantry – Quinton will be temporarily closed as of this Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Recently, we noticed signs of rodent activity. While we initially thought the issue was resolved, we’ve seen evidence that it may have returned. Rather than risk the wellbeing of our community, we’re taking proactive steps to address it the right way.

🛠 What’s happening next:
• This Sunday, we will be emptying the pantry
• All items in good condition will be moved to the New Kent Pantry
• A lock and signage will be placed with directions to nearby pantry locations

💡 The Good News:
We’re upgrading! In the coming weeks, the pantry will be replaced with a brand new resin shed, designed to eliminate entry points and better protect donations moving forward.

Our goal is to reopen within the next couple of weeks. Once we’re ready, we’ll share an update and resume donations.

💙 For over two years, this pantry has served our commUNITY without issue—and that’s because of YOU. Your generosity, consistency, and heart for service have made a real impact. This is just a pause, not the end.

The Little Free Pantry – Quinton didn’t just appear… it exists because of the seeds that were first planted by Little Free Pantry - New Kent. What started as one act of faith and compassion has now grown into one mission in two locations, serving even more neighbors across our commUNITY.

This is what happens when people choose to care. When generosity multiplies. When love shows up in practical ways.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and supporter who believed in the vision then, and who continues to help us move it forward now.

Give what you can. Take what you need. That mission remains the same. Always. 💙🩵

Pantry Update 💙

We wanted to share a quick follow-up with our community — all is well at the Little Free Pantry Quinton.

During our recent check, we did not locate our unexpected little visitor. We took some time to tidy up the space and have placed a small precautionary trap just in case he decides to make a return appearance. Based on what we observed, we believe he may have come in with a recent donation, as we did not identify a clear entry point. That said, with outdoor spaces, you truly never know.

Out of an abundance of caution and to help protect the integrity of the pantry, we are no longer able to accept fresh produce or any perishable items at this time. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we make this adjustment to keep the pantry safe and sustainable for all who rely on it.

Please don’t be discouraged, this mission continues. In fact, we are already working diligently behind the scenes on an additional project that will allow us to responsibly support perishable food distribution in the near future. More details coming soon.

🚨 IMPORTANT PANTRY UPDATE 🚨

Friends, we need to share an immediate change regarding the Little Free Pantry - Quinton.

We have recently been made aware of rodent activity connected to perishable food items being left in the pantry. As much as we have tried to allow a wide variety of donations to serve our community, we can no longer accept ANY perishable items — including fresh produce — effective immediately. We MUST go back to our original goal!

This decision was not made lightly. Our top priority is keeping the pantry safe, clean, and usable for everyone who depends on it.

✅ Shelf-stable items such as canned goods, dry goods, boxed meals, snacks, hygiene products, and sealed beverages are still very much needed and appreciated.

We are grateful for the continued love, generosity, and support shown to this pantry. Together, we can keep it a reliable resource for our neighbors.

This page represents something bigger than a pantry. It represents commUNITY showing up for commUNITY. It represents neighbors caring for neighbors. It represents the quiet but very real need that exists right here in New Kent County.

The Little Free Pantry operates on a simple but powerful principle:

Every single donation matters. Every can, every hygiene item, every box of cereal, every roll of toilet paper helps make sure someone doesn’t have to choose between food and another essential expense.

If you’ve been wondering how you can help, this is it!! You can support by donating items like non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products, baby supplies, and household essentials (see the photo below for suggested donations).

You can also help by:

URGENT: Help Needed for Former Players and Their Family

This morning, a devastating fire destroyed the home of three of our former New Kent basketball players - Tyler, Tommy, and Cincere - and their family of 11. They lost everything, including their home and all three vehicles.

The family is safe, but they're starting over from scratch. No renter's insurance means they need our community's support now more than ever.
