Rotary After Dark - Quincy

10/16/2026

Our club is always having fun while giving back to the community. At our last meeting we filled Boo bags!

We filled 280 Boo bags at our last meeting!! They are ready to go to the residents at the Illinois Veterans Home the last week of October. If you would like to sponsor a vet, reach out!

It's October, and that means it's time for our Boo for Books fundraiser for future Literacy projects! If you'd like to help us out in supplying some Halloween cheer to the veterans at IVH, you can drop off monetary donations at Relax Quincy Spas (where our meetings are held), or a Venmo code will be put in the comments for your convenience! Thank you :)

Way to go, Sarah!

Introducing Current Profiles

Current Profiles is a Quincy Current series celebrating remarkable people with ties to Quincy, past and present, who are making a difference through service, leadership, creativity, innovation, generosity, or simply by helping make their communities better.

Whether their impact is being felt here in Quincy or far beyond it, these stories highlight the positive influence of Quincyans and preserve the legacies of those who helped shape the community before us.

Our first Current Profiles story features Sarah Dodd, a Quincy woman tirelessly giving back to the summer camp that once helped her navigate life with diabetes. Read Her Story 👇

We were honored to welcome Shelby Rose as our guest speaker last night!
At just 13 years old, Shelby learned about her own adoption story. That experience inspired her to help other children who have faced similar circumstances, leading her to start the nonprofit organization Fostering Hope. Since 2018, Fostering Hope has helped more than 500 children locally by providing clothing, shoes, hygiene items, school supplies, and so much more.

Shelby, thank you for sharing your story and for the incredible work you're doing to make a difference in the lives of children in our communities.
We were truly honored to have you with us!
