Feel the Beat was created to honor Claire “Joni” Brennan who had an unexpected heart transplant at the tender age of 5. After her transplant, Claire was given 10 years to live but she defeated all odds by bringing love, hope, and endless laughter to all of those around her for the next 19 years. s. Claire’s legacy lies in is the true miracle that she was: a loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin and everyone’s best friend. She was a caregiver to anyone who needed her, and a mentor to anyone she could support. One of the things Claire cherished and understood most was the value of family. In honor of Claire, the Feel the Beat Foundation was created to help families in need. More specifically, Feel the Beat’s mission is to provide non-medical support to families with children affected by heart disease. When caring for a child who is chronically ill or in medical crisis, families often encounter unexpected expenses and suffer reduced income, on top of medical expenses that can cause undue stress.
