The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship Pro Trail Crew spent time on the Lost & Found course this week, clearing downed trees and debris from some of the roads in the three routes, including this one near the end of the long course. The courses should be in prime shape for next weekend's race, but if you pre-ride this weekend and see any areas of maintenance concern, drop us a DM and let us know. Thanks also to Plumas National Forest road crew for helping to get some of the other forest roads in tip-top shape!

Rock work progression in three slides, on the Verdi Ridge trail this week near Boca Reservoir. The SBTS trail crew is picking up where they left off last fall to complete the 10-mile trail as part of the East Zone Connectivity Project, a 51-mile network that will ultimately link up Truckee with Loyalton, Sierraville, Verdi and Reno, with funding from and CA-OHV dollars, in partnership with the Tahoe National Forest.

Type II Studios makes these cool framed topo maps using GPX data you upload after the race—it's a unique way to remember a big accomplishment like Lost & Found, and continue celebrating your achievement long after the weekend is over. We had a great day in the dirt on the Peavine Maze project in Verdi on Saturday! Thanks to support from the Reno Area Dirt Riders, 17 folks showed up to 304 trail in the Peavine Maze to install drains, remove trenching and improve trailbed sustainability. Calvin Harris, OHV lead for the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest, also showed up, and it was great to have him see what we’ve been working on. Big thanks to RAD for making a $5,000 contribution to SBTS for continued work in the Peavine Maze. This grant is also funded by NV State Parks RTP program. Huge thank you to everyone who came out to help!

We need you! Lost & Found Gravel Festival is coming up the weekend of June 12-14 and we’re looking for volunteers to help us make the weekend run smoothly for racers. Specifically, we’re looking for folks who can help with traffic control during the race start, course marshals/cheer crew and aid stations. We also have some other positions at race start/festival venue at PortolaCity Park, including the merch booth, bike valet and racer registration.

All roles come with free camping, a volunteer T-shirt and socks, drink ticket + food truck meal per day worked, and sack lunch on race day (not to mention, the feel-goods from knowing you’re helping the Stewardship strengthen mountain communities through events like Lost & Found, where every dollar raised goes back into Lost Sierra trails. Check out lostandfoundbikeride.com and hit the ‘volunteer’ tab for more details.
