Thank you to Teens Active in Grantmaking for awarding The Salvation Army of Quincy to support our Angel Tree Program! Also, a special thank you to a familiar face, Xavier Richardson, who is a part of the TAG program and a regular volunteer during our Christmas campaign.

This donation allows us to buy winter clothing, shoes, bedding, and other essentials for teenagers at summer clearance prices.

May was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to uplift one another, and the impact we made speaks for itself.

Throughout the month, we had the opportunity to support those in need by raising funds and extending a helping hand to individuals and families across our community. Whether through food assistance, housing support, or meeting essential needs, this mission continues to thrive thanks to the collective effort behind it. This work isn’t carried by just one person; it’s driven by many hands, many hearts, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

The Salvation Army Canteen truck was on scene supporting first responders during yesterday’s fire in West Quincy. We recognize the dedication of all crews involved and are honored to support response efforts in our community.

While on scene our Canteen served:
- 33 drinks
- 33 meals
- 55 snacks

This work is part of The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS), which provides rapid response during local disasters, offering relief, care, and support beyond immediate needs.

Today, we celebrate a meaningful step in ministry as Captains Rich & Linnea Forney are promoted to Majors in The Salvation Army.

Fifteen years of active service is a big milestone, but their commitment to this mission goes back even further. Long before becoming officers, they were serving in youth and family ministries, answering the call to serve wherever needed.

Over the years, that kind of steady, faithful service has shaped the way they lead and care for others every day.

We’re thankful for the way they serve—as pastors, leaders, and examples of faith in action—and for the impact they’ve made right here in our community.
