Love of God Bringing Triumph at Eastern Nazarene

Love of God Bringing Triumph at Eastern Nazarene Goals of L.G.B.T.

The purpose of Love of God Bringing Triumph is neither to condone nor condemn LGBT orientation or behavior, rather it is to act as a space for acceptance, love, support, and community: to be God’s hands and feet. (1) To create a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment where students have the opportunity to dialogue about the difficulties of being, or having a loved one, in the LGBT comm

unity in the Christian church

(2) To reach members of the community that feel isolated and neglected, and display to them that they do not have to walk alone

(3) To initiate dialogue that allows for reconciliation to occur in our community

(4) To demonstrate to a marginalized group of people that they are deeply loved by both our community and our Triune God

(5) To direct all members to our Creator and ultimate Judge

Hello my friends - See below to fill out a survey to assist a friend with her doctoral research:

My name is Elisabeth Romines Latino. I am a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Louisville. I’m conducting a dissertation level study under the supervision of Dr. Mark Leach and Dr. Stephanie Budge on the experiences and well-being of LGB (or SSA) college students who are also Christian. If you are a college student who identifies as LGB (or SSA), and Christian, we would like to invite you to participate in a brief (25-30 minutes) survey to help us better understand experiences of sexual orientation minority Christian college students in a college setting. If you choose to participate, you can also enter to win a $100 Amazon gift card as compensation for helping with the study. You can also increase your chances to win the gift card by forwarding this survey to other potential participants. If you have any questions or concerns about this research project or the safety and privacy of the participants please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or (260) 450-0498, or you can contact my advisor Dr. Mark Leach at [email protected] or (502) 852-0588. Thank you for your time. Please follow the link below to take this confidential survey!

So that everyone has a clearer understanding of the contents of the letter from Dr. Wesley on behalf of the presidential cabinet, here is the letter in its entirety.

FOR THOSE WHO READ THE PRESS RELEASE BY NAZARENE ALLY, WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SOME CLARIFICATIONS:

Vern did not make any decision of his own about whether or not our group should be approved. It was decided by Administration as a whole, and he wrote a letter to the student board of our group on behalf of the ENC's presidential cabinet. Dr. Wesley has been a big part of communication between our board, the entire cabinet, and ENC's Brickley Center for Counseling to seek alternative ways to have this group formed. We are all working together to get L.G.B.T. approved by administration in a way that does not tarnish our mission. Hopefully ENC will soon become an example for our sister schools! Please keep us in prayer!

If you have any questions about the purpose of the group please feel free to email us, message us, write on our page, or - if you are on ENC's campus - contact Athena Horton, Alicia Mahony, Brenna Campbell or Ericka Mills.
